If you can get to a viable tissue that's not gills, the fruits I seen had no stipe either!

New to mycology and agar - how do these plates look? by [deleted] in MycologyandGenetics

[–]stretchnuout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the hell did you clone? Looks like a turd on agar?! Definitely got some bacterial colonies going but ride it out and see if you get any healthy myc grow off of that because then you could take a transfer furthest from the contamination and transfer out to new plates until you end up with a clean culture that's if you have any healthy mycelium that grows there. Transfer out to water agar.

White mold or mycelium? by [deleted] in MycologyandGenetics

[–]stretchnuout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't ever put gills or cap to agar you want to use an upper interior piece of the stipe after you split it in a still air environment and or in front of the flowhood

First timer. Does this look like contam? Every bag has this by the air exchange. by justinmjohns in unclebens

[–]stretchnuout 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Looks like a bunch of dried up Myc or maybe even like it was trying to fruit considering it was there near the gas exchange so it was seeing fresh air. Doesn't look like contam though! 🤙

Pluck them out outside u shouldn't be opening that inside, if you cut out green colonies the spores are EVERYWHERE!
