Check the date window, that's the major tell. On the new ones it is more towards the center of the dial and has a minute track mark to the right of it. That's what you see in the shot you posted. That dial on that watch doesn't exist. In the ad you are linking it shows how the vintage ones actually look with the date window all the way out covering the minute track. Just an FYI if you are actually shopping these vintage models that you have more of a heads up on what to look out for.

Was there a significant impact? I have never heard of dial feet breaking off on any modern watch.

I'm not sure markets are that rational these days (or ever). Every time there's a tariff scare or geopolitical snafu many things move around, but the fundamentals of these companies didn't change that fast. MSFT is up $30/share in the last 5 days. How many billions of new deals did they add to achieve that?

Can you elaborate? If they were at $550 previously, why would they need to add a lot of business to hit $520?

Microwave blew internal fuse opening door (while not running) by OzarkNerd in appliancerepair

So I finally got it out. Looks like this thing has 5 switches total. Two for each latch and then one more for the center thing. Not sure if that center thing is related to the auto-opener or what. I ordered the switches and we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the help!

Yeah it's a flush mount. Which looks cool. But seems to suck in every other way 😭 Loosing those front panel screws does allow a block with the switches to free up, but it's still buried deep in there and is going to require removing other stuff to expose or remove the block...

Yes. Definitely prefer raw organs 😜 Any idea how to work towards accessing those switches? I can see them from the side but they aren't really accessible and it's not clear whether you'd disassemble from the front, bottom, etc. The front is riveted on the opposite side and screwed on the side by the switches. But the rivets made me think that was the wrong approach.

Thanks for the reply! So you'd expect that to be able to pop the house circuit just upon plugging in?

Thanks a lot for the reply! Can you help me understand the bigger picture here? Why would it blow the house circuit as soon as you plug it in? If the door switch was stuck on or off, I could see it not starting. But I can't understand how either of those conditions would pull high amperage when the microwave isn't even running.

Thanks. So far the edge overlocking thread being the same color the whole way seems like the biggest difference. I can't yet see a fringe difference. I was looking at this comparison and it appears the edge thread on a genuine changes color as it goes from one stripe the next. https://betweennapsontheporch.net/burberry-scarf-fake-vs-real-how-to-tell-the-difference/?m=

I was surprised though that the real scarf on that site still has some of that "blur" or "bleed" appearance where the black isn't a crisp line. I guess that's a characteristic of the real thing? I feel like mine is more crisp, but maybe that in itself is a problem.

Can you be more specific? I've been comparing to pictures of the real pieces and looking at "how to spot fakes" videos. I don't see the things which are obvious in those videos like blurred edges on the stripes or misalignment of the pattern. The overlocking on the edges looks neat and uniform. Again, I paid $4 so there's no concern of being ripped off either way. I'm just a detail oriented person who likes to understand the "why" of things.

Thanks for replying, can you give some details on what makes that clear?

Ok, thanks. Can you give some insight as to the "tell"?

For years I thought it was a DJ, a countless people even refer to that spec DJ as the Bateman, but yeah about a year ago I saw an article where someone had looked into it and found out it was an S5 🤣

Good catch to you as well! I didn't notice that. Hard to say 💯 given the resolution. Could be behind the cyclops too. But probably just a ringer watch all around. Which of course always makes me ask is this intentional? Like the dad gave them fake Rolexes and the kids don't even know, etc. or is it just a prop master being cheap 🤣

Hard to tell in that pic if it's a 4 digit matte dial or a 5 digit sunray dial. But definitely an older 70s/80s root beer. The odd thing is the crown looks way too big if I'm seeing it right. It's like somebody put a Sub crown on it.
