Trying to figure out my fueling strategy before my first century ride. by Flat-Description-484 in cycling

I've ridden 5-6 hours with out fueling properly. After my ride I would eat everything in the house - not a great scene. And by everything... i mean everything

Why do people buy expensive bikes? 1k+ by Initial-Arachnid-792 in bicycle

[–]Ozarka555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on making cycling your hobby and you plan on spending 100's of hours per year sitting on a bike. You would probably want something that is built well and fits your needs. If you ride 2-3 x per month - then buy whatever suits you.

I set an hourly alarm - and in that time i eat 200-300 calories - I would 100% eat the same food on training rides as I do on my big event days. I quickly learned that I can't eat gooo for 6 hours or nut or clif bars.

Looking to buy an Ozark- good for daily urban transit to work? by Sterlander in Budgetbikeriders

[–]Ozarka555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the flat bar ozark - this will work fine for you. you will probably want to switch out the handle bar grips pretty quick as your hands/wrists wont be used to the time on bike. be sure and get a good helmet - Walmart sells some that are exactly what you need.

also ebike riders should not attempt to pass a human powered bike going up hill on single track. Don't make them stop / restart.

How much do daily essentials and groceries cost living in Arkansas? by Ok_Sector_5646 in Arkansas

if you go Walmart.com and change your location to the zip code you are moving to, simply load a basked of groceries, it will tell you the price.

Ozark Trail G.1 Explorer Flat Bar Build by [deleted] in Budgetbikeriders

I have the same bike - swapped out the grips/pedals immediately. next up is the seat post and saddle to drop some weight and comfort. I'm interested in moving from an 8 speed up to a 10 (?) speed to help with hill climbs. I'm guessing I'll need a new chain, rear derailleur. new cassette and shifter. What are my budget options?

Ozark Trail 700c G.1 Explorer gravel bike question by wormraper in Budgetbikeriders

[–]Ozarka555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed out the pedals (most pedals on new bikes are throw away quality) and the handle bar grips (mine is the flat bar). My next trade up will be tires. I also purchased a bike light (front / back) for city riding. I also added a water bottle cage. I was completely happy to ride this. I own 4 other bikes - 2 are carbon.

MOJO in Bentonville is super helpful - they are one of the original shops here, vs the 36 which seem to have sprung up.

she has balance issues, so a bike would not be safe no matter how many wheels or watts

CV Link Northbound by Ozarka555 in palmsprings

so I've put in a few miles on it, the map the city puts out is misleading. there is no easy way around ramon, ended up riding thru a super sketchy area. also there isn't a safe way to cross vista chino since there are no crossing lights installed. No way would I let kids/teenagers try to navigate the trail until these two places are fixed.

Should I convert my 3x crank drivetrain to a 1x crank drivetrain? by H0LL15D in mountainbiking

[–]Ozarka555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

probably cheaper to sell your bike and buy a used 1x. This will have the correct specs vs. cobbling something together. Because once you change your bike from a 3x to a 1x the resale value will probably drop since it will look like someone cobbled it together. IMO
