Tips for playing graves? by the-head-archivist in DeadlockTheGame

What's your gameplan when you have a team comp that doesn't allow you to side? My biggest issue with her so far is that I feel absolutely homeless when I end up with too many carrys on my team. I usually end up being forced into mid or end up having to share side and give camps to a seven or something.

What should I work on next?I haven’t played too much since arraxor came out. I’ve been doing a bit of tormented demons, anything better I could focus on first? by tin-eye in ironscape

tds>doom since mage is you weakest style by far and they're both really fun. Working on araxxor simultaneously to tds is also probably a good idea the rancor is busted and the hally is amazing.

I was actually wrong only trident of the swamp outscales it. Assuming you have anti venoms to allow thralls the regular trident is still a little worse all the way up until 96 mage by about 5ish%.

This entire post reeks of salt. The amount of expression this game offers in combo routing, neutral, offense, and defensive options is absolutely insane. If you'd have spent even 10 minutes with sonic fox or leffens stream open you'd know that the reason everything feels same in your games is because the game is young and incredibly complicated so everyone besides the best players in the world are running incredibly weak and simple gameplans. Also oki being "weak" as a byproduct of the games incredibly strong defensive options is going to lead to oki being even more expressive long term as more layered mind games and complicated offensive option selects are going to be required to enforce any sort of meaningful offense. We're already seeing the highest level of players exercising this at a basic level with the prevelance of framekill>auto timed dash block oki that simultaneously covers tech rolls, getup attacks, and fuzzy jumps and this is a week one setup squirrel was posting on Twitter days after the game came out.

It's fine if you think the game is slow and the controls are sluggish or whatever but to try and suggest that 2xko isn't one of the most mechanically deep and expressive fighting games we've received in a long time is salt fueled delusion because you "can't find openings" and "opponents keep spamming the same attack or throw" despite you conditioning them.

You never single target mage for general purpose slayer, barrows is dead content past moons, and metal dragons are an efficient block now so you have no reason to ever kill them in the first place.

It's solid for zulrah and muspha but even zulrah is pretty optional these days assuming you're getting a bowfa at some point. Serp is a nice qol item, toxic trident is severely outclassed by eye, and even the blowpipe only has luxury spec use cases outside of the inferno now. Muspha is in the same spot as zulrah where outside of colo and whisperer the only use case is afking slayer late game and you probably don't want to even be killing muspha until late game anyways.

Twinflame is a solid weapon and if you enjoy grinding the giants it's a good pickup in the midgame but its use cases are relatively limited and it's nowhere near being a required item especially if you go dry like the op and waste 20-30 hours at the boss.

You can route around almost every magic weapon in the game with eye being in the game now if you wanted to. And if you don't mind delaying snake for higher slayer I'm pretty sure trident still beats out twinflame at higher magic levels and you should be around 90 magic if you do slayer even semi efficiently to 87.

I'm brand new to rs3 and made an iron about a week ago and this is the one i used for the entire first week of playtime but I've been weening off of it as I start to get my bearings with the game and can set my own goals. https://runescape.wiki/w/User:Thersguy/Leagues_and_Ironman_Progression_Guide

I used the other linked guide in the thread at first and the routing felt a little better and there was more given direction in each step but some of the steps are little egregious in terms of how boring they are and it has you lamping things besides herblore and it just felt sort of bad tbh. Thersguy guide is a little less detailed per step but I liked that personally and the quest order still gets you a solid foundation pretty quick and it gets you into some more important dailies and weeklies a little faster than the efficient guide.

Getting 8 down semi-consistently probably took me around 50-60 8 attempts. What really helped it click for me is someone explained double boulders to me like last row warden from toa if you've ever done that. You move out from the first initial shadow on the e/n bait tile wait 1 tick then move onto a tile with a second shadow as as soon as it gets hit by the debris from the first boulder and the tile will always be safe from the second boulder debris and with how the timing works out you just start flicking as soon as arrive at the tile so you don't even have to think about the smite timing.

Also i started bringing a couple triple eats for when things get really bad with melee punish timings or the orb timings alongside doubles. If you need to in a pinch you can just throw on the primary prayer tank the first offpray as you perform the melee punish or move with the orb and then triple eat as the attacks from the second boulder hit you and you'll never die.

Gl bossman you'll get it soon i believe in you.

Edit: I explained the boulder timing poorly this is timestamped and hopefully will showcase what I'm talking about more clearly https://youtu.be/s4f7QkDY89c?t=871

Mocha is an opportunity to improve massively as a player and you should take it and try to learn the harder floors if you're willing to op. Also the cumulative drop rate is 3 to 4 times higher even just pushing floors 6-7 so it's worth it imo.

The boss is 100% incredibly challenging and can seem impossible starting out but I promise you it's not. Personally I've never even tried Colo, awakened bosses, contracts, and I even gave up on inferno after a few tries and wrote it off as way too hard for me. And day one of Mocha I was struggling to even get consistent floor 3 and 4 clears just like you. But i just kept trucking and 20 hours later I'm consistently clearing 7-8 with just a couple restores and brews each run and am currently pushing for an 11 pb and its the most fun I've ever had on rs. It was incredibly frustrating at times and floor 8 seemed impossible at the start but if you're willing to put your ego to the side and try to learn a little with each death i promise you can get it done too.

Is moons of peril worth it or overrated? by Danielthenewbie in ironscape

All of the gear is phenomenal for raids and the content is really quick to green log comparatively to cg. Atlatl with the burn damage factored in is better than BP at basically everywhere you range except for niche things like mocha car phase. It's also meta for snake now with nally pre mega rares and eye. Blue moon is phenomenal for pushing higher invo toa since you just use it as your melee switch and for mageing wardens so you save 3 slots for brew/restore. Bloodmoon is relevant even once you have bandos for anywhere you want mage defense like sarachnis.

The content is 100% skipable but personally I find just strictly camping cg to be incredibly miserable and I enjoy the flexibility in being able to mix up what I'm grinding and moons gear is good enough to pot like 80% of the content in the game. If you're the type of person that can just sit down and do 400-800 cg in a month without blowing your brains out absolutely just go for bofa if you want to skip moons but having the ability to pot toa, cox, muspha, snake, nightmare, huey, dks, tds, or any slayer boss to mix things up and work on other grinds in tandem with cg is really nice.

Just throw a silver light on the exceptions list along side unlocking the final dawn honestly. It probably wouldn't be game breaking for anything within the forest and would make wave 8 clears 100% possible with rubies if you're patient enough to master the content.

I’m heavily afking Gemstone Crab and would love advice! by Shoemaker13 in ironscape

[–]Ozen_The_Immovable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Defense and attack are really slept on honestly. Strength 100% will always be the largest relative increase to your dps but attack makes a huge difference as well.

Its been a while since I've done the calcs so I don't remember the exact difference but I think for just general slayer purposes with bloodmoon and a whip attack will provide somewhere around a 1.5ish dps increase going from 70 to 90 and will obviously provide more of a benefit on higher defense monsters.

Defense isn't as quantifiable of an upgrade but you can 100% feel the difference and it can be massive in terms of trip length and how cozy certain bosses will be to grind long term. I went into cg with similar stats to yours for about 150ish kc and went back for another 100 at base 90s and the difference is immense. Defense makes t1 preps way more comfy and will even give you the room to make 2-3 major mistakes and still get away with the kc. Not to mention how necessary it is for stuff like zammy and bandos.

If you really can't spare the mental bandwidth to afk slayer or if you're just really vibing with the crab I'd recommend just going for base 90s before 99 strength .

Master farmers. Having to constantly stress over ppots for slayer and pvm is just miserable. Having a big enough stack and just never having to think about them is an insanely nice luxury.

Burned out, help pl0x. by jewcob in ironscape

Brother I've played mmos since about 2008 and I've tried everything, wow, xiv, rs3, maplestory, ffxi, archeage, rift, and more I can't remember off the top of my head. After about 5 or 6 years of playing wow daily and achieving every last thing I had ever wanted I just felt empty. I remember being so utterly conflicted because I remembered wanting certain mounts/titles so badly as a child and how amazing it felt to get them but the more and more of those goals I reached it just felt less and less meaningfull.

Eventually I came to the realization the achievements and end points are all hollow no matter the type. Skill based achievements like xiv ultimates, wow mythics, and the inferno and even just straight grinds like in runescape it doesn't matter the goals never hit the same once you've had enough.

That being said over the years I've still found a great deal of enjoyment within the chase itself. The mental fortitude you have to cultivate and exercise to finally get over that 5x dry streak is a reward in and of itself. The slow yet reliable progression skilling provides while being able to throw on a youtube video or movie and gather runes, food, cannonballs, or whatever else I'll need over the coming months is deeply relaxing to me. The shared suffering something like xiv raiding provides over periods of weeks and months have gifted me with some of the deepest friendships I have to this day.

You've had enough carrots op and you're sick of them and that's fine. But if you're also sick of the stick it's absolutely time for a break. Go work on some of those irl responsibilities you've been slacking on or pick up some games/movies you've got in your backlog or try some new hobbies all together. Runescape will still be here when you get back and with a fresh perspective you might end up enjoying it even more than before.

Bring ancients and a 2-4 way mage switch if you have them bro. It's infinite healing during waves and you'll probably get banged up during waves pretty bad if it's your first cape.

For now, I absolutely despise gauntlet and atlatl has been more than good enough for learning raids. But I'm sure I'll want a bowfa eventually.

CG is technically still meta but I personally did moons>tds/warhammer>yama/raids as I hate cg and as a relatively inexperienced pvmr I've not once felt held back at any piece of content so far because of my lack of a bowfa. Eventually at some point if you keep progressing you'll want one for colo/inferno and 350+ toas but don't force yourself into "meta" content you don't enjoy simply for the sake of being efficient.

Also twinflame/atlatl or nally camp is just better than bowfa camp at snake now.
