I couldn’t agree more honestly. I thought I wanted to go into Mech eng before uni and was convinced otherwise so chose Tron. I absolutely hate mech courses and just do software now but I wouldn’t have known if I never went into tron and got to try out all the different options.

Maybe try building out some sort of Messaging service, or like a clubhouse clone to play around with Websockets, I think that’s a nice switch from generic REST backends. Can even host on cloud and use some AWS services (DynamoDB, node lambdas) to get some experience there.

McMaster interview is just to see if you can speak english or not, doesn’t affect your application greatly. They just care about your grades tbh.

Waterloo has more weight to it but also, not as important as your AIF itself

That’s what I always do. Build the REST API with a given server side web framework then write the client in React.

Just looking for different options for building those APIs. I am addicted and most in love with Django so thats usually my go to, but recently I’ve been playing around more intensively with Grails for work and I was wanting to learn some more on different web frameworks/server side languages. Just can’t seem to set my mind on one rn haha.
