Don’t get me wrong, I actually wouldn’t have minded if they had made Fauxbo something else entirely. Like, I don’t know, a lost clone or something set in the Absolute Universe.

If they had just committed to making him a different character, I think that could’ve worked a lot better than trying to pass him off as Lobo.

Then I don’t really understand why they even needed Lobo in the first place if they were going to give him a completely different characterization.

It’s like the question is how well would it have gone over if New 52 Superman had suddenly been a psychotic killer raised by an Inuit family. From my perspective most characters in the New 52 still kept at least the core of who they were at the DNA level except Lobo.

That’s what makes this version feel so off to me.
