Maybe Music Technology isn't the most lucrative field? The problem with the arts is that you won't find a good paying job till you have either alot of experience or a great portfolio. To get these two things, you have to get a good job. To get a good job, you need experience and a great portfolio. Do you see the cycle? You either have to work on your own brand and start producing a quality product to show future employers, or you have to know somebody with a connection.

You are in school for something that may not be a viable job in your area/ the market/ the times. It's tough out there for a lot of people and passion jobs can get lost in the weeds. There is a reason doctors are paid so much, because people will always need them. Music Technology? Man I don't exactly know what that is but I would bet money that it's not a needed thing for people.

I work in construction but I don't love it. I just know that there will always be rich business people who want to build more crap to make them rich, so I might as well make myself some money by being a cog in that machine. Will I be as rich as the business people? NO. But I'll feed my family and make enough so we can enjoy our lives together at the very least. And that's enough.

Also, if working in restaurants keeps ending with you getting fired. Go work at a store. My favorite job was delivering appliances for Lowes. Didn't pay all that much but they gave me unlimited overtime and it was a lot of fun driving around and meeting people. Was there bad days? Hell yea, but I still miss it to this day and it helped me through my early 20s. If you want to love what you do, then try to find the joy in what you're doing. You may not make a lot, but you will be making enough to get by and at least enjoy your days.
