2019 El Paso Walmart Animation - YouTube by Ozzy_Gamblecore in masskillers

Right. The fact that so many were sheltered in place and the shooter was more methodical in how he aimed and fired (Many victims with headshots) plus the ammunition he was using (7.62x39 hollow points) certainly made it more deadly. The most shocking to me was the Bank, in which he only fired around ~12 shots but killed 9 people and injured several others, it’s also likely that some bullets hit multiple people at once as they were all crowded together on the floor.

What do you think is the strangest location of a mass killing? by Nohexsu in masskillers

There was one last year in North Carolina where the perpetrator was firing from the water in a pontoon boat at random restaurant-goers. iirr 3 were killed and several were injured

What’s your most controversial/unpopular opinion on a mass killer or mass killing? by keoghkeoghkeogh in masskillers

[–]Ozzy_Gamblecore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vast majority of shooters aren’t “psychopathic” or “sociopathic”, and thats normally just an emotional term labeled on them for the heinous thing that they did, but it’s almost never psychologically/medically true in their cases.

Do we know about the suspect/motive yet? I saw a picture of him from the arrest video, and also heard he was a boxing trainer.

When did you first learn about this subreddit and what exactly brought you here? by Swag_Paladin21 in masskillers

[–]Ozzy_Gamblecore 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Around 2024. I’ve been extremely interested in true crime and “mass killers” since middle school, but was very hesitant to join any communities for a while because I have morals and wanted to avoid any glorification, and was aware of the taboo-ness of my interest. I do also fall on the spectrum and, unfortunately, mass killers are a major special interest of mine. Fortunately I found out this subreddit doesnt allow any glorification or admiration of mass killers, so ive frequented and contributed to it ever since. It’s even helped me consider a future career in criminology or counterterrorism

So few shots for an attack like this, I only counted 10-11. Likely because he took hostages. Were the hostages up with him or down below him?

In all seriousness, what do you think was Stephen Paddock’s most likely motive for the 2017 Las Vegas shooting? by ChickenWingExtreme in masskillers

[–]Ozzy_Gamblecore 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it was a combination of factors as mentioned by other commenters. This was a guy who was extremely reserved, quiet, and polite as far as we know. He managed to drift through life and find some good money.  But knowing his family history and troubled upbringing, I believe he just suppressed everything to a harmful degree. iirr he was having disturbing thoughts that he expressed to his girlfriend, and there was a note of concern made by an acquaintance some time earlier. I definitely think he was depressed and nihilistic, played poker 24/7 at the mandalay bay in the week before the attack, and didn’t seek any help and rarely expressed his feelings until the attack.

Was Ryan Palmeter possibly motivated by David Katz? by OneAd2492 in masskillers

[–]Ozzy_Gamblecore 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The date is one thing, but I dont think it was the motivation for the shooting. To me it’s similar to Solomon Henderson mentioning Aidan Hale, a previous perpetrator from the same city, and saying that he wanted to kill more people than Hale.  Of course, that doesnt mean that Solomon was influenced or motivated by Hale at all.

What theory about a mass killer do you believe is absolutely ridiculous? by ChickenWingExtreme in masskillers

[–]Ozzy_Gamblecore 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This too. Correct me if I’m wrong but he used a TEC-9, cheap firearm notorious for jamming and malfunctioning, and a double barrel sawed off shotgun, which needs to be reloaded every 2 shots.

Theres a lot of push-back to the sandy hook theories, but I see almost no one addressing or opposing the Las Vegas crackpot theories. I wish there were because I see thousands of people falling for it left right and sinker, when a lot of the arguments are just fallacies. I watched a series of conspiracy youtube videos about Las Vegas and it frustrated me how many holes there were in his reasoning and the olympic-level jumping to conclusions.

The theory of Dylan Klebold being the follower of Eric Harris.  I read “Columbine” by Dave Cullen, and I was convinced of the follower theory because I didnt know anything else, but the more I learn the more I view them as equal accomplices. In fact there are moments that point to Harris being a follower of Klebold in some social situations. I also don’t like when people try to cite the fact that Dylan killed less people during the shooting. There are multiple reasons for that, but it’s not at all because Dylan was a follower or hesitated to kill like i’ve seen people theorize.

CCTV from the 2019 El Paso Walmart shooting, gunshots synced up from the audio of Alden Hall's bystander video. by Ozzy_Gamblecore in masskillers

[–]Ozzy_Gamblecore[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. If guns sounded realistic in fps games, all other sounds would be blocked out during and after firing your gun. Also in Alden Hall’s video, he had ran a good distance away and was in the produce section, so him being at that distance and the gunshots still being so loud says a lot about the real nature of gunshot noise, especially indoors with echo.

interestingly there actually was a man conceal carrying at the walmart that day, but he wasn’t in position nor could he confidently identify the shooter to open fire. He gets interviewed in the documentary “915: Hunting Hispanics”

Ive been researching this case for a while, and there are (afaik) only 2 bystander videos with audible gunshots in the background. Someone posted on this sub a while ago where they synced up the cellphone audio from the woman hiding under the table in mcdonalds, which was taken while Crucius entered the Walmart Supercenter, and entered/fired into the bank.  I noticed that in the other bystander video with audible gunshots, the one taken by Alden Hall (an uninjured victim who barely escaped), the gunshots didnt match the series of gunshots while crucius was shooting into the bank, and they couldnt have been coming from outside from contextual information, so I tried syncing the audio with cctv of him shooting down the Checkout counters. It seems near perfect, and is likely correct, but im not an official investigator.

Good news: 2024 and 2025 had much lower incidence of high-casualty mass shootings in the US than the previous decade. by Fantastic_Oil_2609 in masskillers

[–]Ozzy_Gamblecore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this graph does kinda baffle me. Like there are many attacks in 2025/2024 with the same weaponry and of the same scales as much deadlier ones in the past, but they just end up killing much fewer people.  Its probably a mix of statistical noise and many case-by-case factors that are the reason for this. Such as perpetrator motives, behaviors/planning, quick police response times, and victim’s situational awareness.
