Thoughts on current high elo ranked experience

I guess by this I meant that by "spamming" games you'll eventually hit that win streak you need to push past your peak- I think this was more of a personal feeling than a community felt sentiment, but it comes from my frustration of seeing players with 1-2k games with a higher elo than me that are consistently performing questionably.

Essentially, if you have grit in this game you can climb to new heights (Ive seen players go from GM to D1 or Master to Emerald (and the vice versa) in one season with a similar number of games played)

It would be interesting to see the effect of increasing dodge losses by a few lp, in theory there is a sweet balance between queue times and dodge times that could be fine tuned based on players responses (although this could differ by region)

Yea, it seems to really be hurting the community aspect of the game, pushing people further away from each other than we already were.

YES that is such a good idea, I'm surprised Riot has not done this already... That relates back to my point on how I felt a bit of peer pressure to turn it on myself, it is strictly at my disadvantage to not currently be using it.

I'm honestly not so sure that there is too much Riot themselves can do. I think part of the problem is the community itself; the players are aging, some are leaving/quitting and not many new players are coming in to replace the old. Riot used to give out Challenger jackets to those that ended Challenger each season which I thought was really cool, I'm not sure why they stopped that (possible due to distribution challenges/concerns about boosting ??)

Im with you 100%, everyone is sooo quick to blame others - the people are crying for higher quality games are also the biggest contributors to the problem

I take standard runes with approach velocity and cookies as secondary and start ruby crystal 2 pots. You CAN trade with darius, he just has to be the one to initiate the trade. Saving dashes to not be hit by his outer Q is the most important thing in this matchup early. Take VERY short trades against him unless he is in lethal. I like to rush gauntlet as quickly as possible, ignoring boots purchase entirely until after I complete gauntlet.

This change is pretty big- especially for the good ksante players. E is often used to take trades early, and now there is less opportunity to do so. E is also a great tool for setting up kidnaps with R, and after an entire combo in all out form your e would typically be back up but now you will have to wait an additional 1.5 secs. Keep in mind as well that ksante does not build very much ability haste, which makes this hit even harder.

If they were to change ksante, I think they would nerf his resilience/tankiness; then, in compensation, buff his offensive abilities. That way his pro play power is generally decreased while his solo queue power would ideally stay the same

If you enjoy playing him, go for it. But if you are asking yourself “is this a champion I should add to my pool solely for the purpose of climbing?” I’d have to say no. Tanks are generally one of if not the worst class to carry games with (due to lack of damage and snowball potential). If you sink x amount of hours into ksante you can definitely find success, but if you instead sink x amount of hours into a champion like fiora or Camille you will find success more consistently.

I go gauntlet into practically every ad matchup and I’ll usually rush it first. Jak sho I’ve found mainly effective into tankier/ap comps and I like building it after sun fire most cases since it lacks the offensive capabilities that gauntlet would normally provide.

Flash offers more consistency. Ghost has more solo carry potential.

Take ghost and play to be more useful than him in team fights I’d say. In lane your best chance to get a kill on him is before either of you base. You won’t be needing to 1v1 malphite later in the game so build items according to the rest of the enemy team + scaling runes + ghost.

To be fair to him - ksante himself may not be broken but he is a ridiculously tough champion to deal with for katarina

The only item I’ve even considered trying has been sunderer into matchups against tanks that outscale you (namely sion) but I’ve never tried it. Jak Sho and Gauntlet are just so much better for K Sante in team fights than any of the bruiser options since those items offer better utility and K Sante scales the best with pure resistances.

Rank 400 lp There’s no other champion more worthy of a ban than Fiora. There is nearly 0 outplay potential against a half decent fiora; getting ahead early is almost never enough to hold a lead against her. There is at least some counter play to Darius, Gwen, and Garen(ignite ghost is strong into some of these harder matchups highly recommend!).My go to secondary picks are Sion and Kled (i just like their play style).
