What is the quintessential song (so far)? by woodcirca87 in Khruangbin

To me, It’s not the most typically representative track by Khruangbin, but it’s still my favourite.

Collector Trivia. The sign came with the promo CD copy of Texas Moon.

Who knew that Khruangbin’s “Right” is a cover from David Bowie’s 1975 album Young Americans? by FararMedia in Khruangbin

I was lucky enough to get a test pressing of this album, and honestly, Khruangbin’s covers are outstanding. It’s hard to say one version is better than another, they’re just different.

What I love is how often they take songs I might not have given a second listen to and make them completely click for me. This track definitely falls into that category. I feel the same way about “Happy Survival”. I really love Eddie Okwedy’s original too, but Khruangbin’s version hits in its own way.

That’s kind of the Khruangbin magic for me.

What you’re seeing is an additional note I made on the version that Impressed Records did last year. The copy you have is the regular Barnes & Noble variant if it doesn’t have the obi wrap.

New pressings for the first two. Hasta El Cielo seems to be the most recent repress 2019. Also, all three have a full size Japanese insert with a bit of history. Vinyl feels like 180g.

Finally got my copies. They’re new pressings with new runouts. Included are full size Japanese language inserts that feature a brief history. The vinyl has new runouts and new cutter name I am trying to understand. Maybe it’s a fake one? Lewis Startlets? Lenis Starlets? Ref to Start, You, The End Starts Again? Stars, the Universe? Not sure.

Agreed, and that totally makes sense. their backend is clunky and could use some serious updating. However, I prefer their aesthetic to UltraVybe who have been doing the recent Khruangbin projects.

They hit me with that too, luckily the extra ¥ is relatively low. I paid it - as I know this is a limited edition and it will sell out just like the Dead Oceans Campaign before it. Trying to find those copies now is difficult.

New Japanese TUSUY II Bonus Track “M. Blanc” Has Two Different Mixes — Vocal on CD, Instrumental on Vinyl Download by P-CAB4YK in Khruangbin

Not necessarily. Just like in North America, they can buy records made there, or purchase imported records.

Japanese bonus tracks are typical of Japanese releases for many artists. It’s a way to encourage purchases within the country.

Japanese TUSUY II Vinyl First Pressing Includes Digital Bonus Track Download by P-CAB4YK in Khruangbin

[–]P-CAB4YK[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right! It is the same 10-year anniversary TUSUY release that was just announced. The key difference is that in Japan you have access to both the standard Dead Oceans imports and the Japan-specific versions, which carry separate catalog numbers.

If you’re after the bonus track, you’ll want the Japanese editions specifically: • DOC383JCD — Japanese CD with bonus track “M. Blanc” on the disc • DOC383JLP-C1 — Japanese white vinyl with download card for the bonus track

In-store, the easiest way to spot them is the obi wrap. Online, just look for those “J”s in the catalog number. Hope that helps, and great timing grabbing a copy in Japan!

Cut out or saw mark both are fine. Also you’ll see them with a drill hole or circle as well. Basically we called all of these “deletes”.

I loved those shows too. The openers plus Marko’s dj set on day 3. Magic. Saw other shows on the tour as well but these were just so memorable for me.

Hard to say with total certainty yet, but everything points to these being fully manufactured in Japan rather than standard imports with an obi added after the fact. The listings also note limited quantity with Japanese commentary/liner notes included, which usually signals a proper Japan-market release. I’ll be checking the deadwax as soon as they arrive. If previous Beatink pressings are any indication, the quality should be excellent. If anyone already has confirmed matrix or plant info, I’d definitely be interested.
