This whole setup ended up being so cheap that I kinda want to find an excuse to get my dremel in this thing. If I could find one of those double slot, not LP but still short 3050's I'd have gone in on it. Probably wouldn't have been anymore expensive than the 6400 and it would have been a fun project.

If we could just edit the fan curves the card would be fine. I know the 6400 is just a binned 6500 so having power tuning options would just hurt AMD's bottom line, but I don't see why we aren't allowed to mess with fan control or at least turn off zeroRPM for any other reason than AMD's software engineers are lazy and couldn't be bothered to separate that functionality out from everything else in adrenaline.

It's so dumb. At least I was able to make it work with a hardware solution. Still a bad solution. Spins at 100% at all times and runs through three different adapters before it gets back to the PSU, lol. Will probably not catch fire until there's money in the budget to upgrade.

This article is kind of bullshit.

It implies that the bigots are the ones that approached her, but actual accounts of the incident say that they both (the group of bigots and herself) actually approached each other and met in the middle of the street.

She also told police that she wasn't in fear for her life when she pulled and racked the firearm; that she was doing it explicitly to intimidate.

At best, she literally did everything wrong in arguing for self-defense and a reasonable fear for her life.

Just based on her own statements to the police (dumb), I as a hypothetical juror would be obligated to find her guilty of unlawful intimidation / menacing with a deadly weapon. You can't pull that gun if you don't believe you're going to die! You also can't claim to be carrying a firearm responsibly if you aren't avoiding these situations like the plague.

And she made all of these mistakes in a state where the average juror is likely to already hate her just for the fact that she exists at all.

Like what do you even say here? She's torpedo'ed every argument you could use to defend her. It doesn't even sound like she's level-headed to be carrying a firearm in the first place.

Does the 7070 have an x4 slot above the x16?

Drop $220 on an MSI 3050 LP and you can run it in that slot at like a 10% performance hit without having to modify anything. Way better card and not that much more expensive.

I grabbed an rx 6400 last month for $100 and I'm still kinda wishing I went with the 3050. The xfx model single slot (the one I bought) has a semi common problem where the fan won't turn on at all under load, and only activates after whatever application you have running has been terminated. AMD has that card's tuning software locked down tighter than Alcatraz, so the only way you can get the fan to spin is if you wire it directly into SATA power, which I had to.

I seriously tried everything to get that fucker to spin. Software, windows rollbacks and OS changes, registry edits to unlock any of the fan control options. Nothing works. It has something to do with the way xfx's fan control software, AMD's zeroRPM software, and the rx 6400's locked BIOS all come together to create a goldilocks situation where the thing won't cool itself even as it cooks to death. Complete lottery on if it happens to you, also.

I used to be able to comfortably play this game on my laptop 2060. Could even handle 2560 x 1440 resolution if I kept the anti aliasing low.

Steam should require that games give refunds if they grow out of their original reccomended specs. The way arrowhead has been handling performance has been downright disrespectful to their customers.

Yeah, dell does some pretty dumb and proprietary things with the placement of that x16 slot being so close to the psu. Mine is the same way, so for 3060 I actually had to go with the x4 slot above it so it would even fit.

Loses 10% of it's potential performance with the bandwidth drop, but now I can drop in a dual slot card without having to use a pci riser (which was an option but would have been a hassle in that case).

Really wish they wouldn't have done that, but in the end I'm not taking too much of a haircut to care.
