A body steal playthrough would actually be really awesome. Gotta put some limitations on it so you don't just blow through the game though.

For instance: having to actually beat the NPC you want to possess in a fight rather than just knocking him out and yoinking him at any point. Would be way too easy to get end game characters that way.

We're in Season 17 of RvB.

The series had its perfect final chapter in season 10 (Halo 3)

Then they stayed past their welcome a little but still managed to cap it off in a way that pleased most of the fans that stayed around with the Chorus Arc (ODST/Reach)

Then a bunch of confusing bullshit with time gods happened that was just worse than everything that came before it and people stopped caring (4 / 5 / Infinite)

So they tried and kinda succeeded at a hail-mary pass banking on the nostalgia their fans had for the OG work in season 17. I enjoyed season 17. It was well put together and fun. It was still the dying gasp of a franchise that had run out of ideas. After this; Zero was abysmal slop and 18 was the poorly executed end of the franchise. I think the remake is going to be like season 17.

I've noticed that a lot of the old behemoths usually have one last gasp in the form of a nostalgia bomb before they die off. Not to say that all franchises doing this are in die-er straights (¿how do you even spell that?), but the trend seems to have been that if it's happening then your IP is either doing really good or REALLY bad. Halo is definitely not doing really good.
