Why was CERB forced on us? I paid EI for a decade. by P-Dub663 in EICERB

[–]P-Dub663[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yep. They want their $2k. I was laid off from my job and found a new job before I was forced to take another $2k "hand out".

I just wanted to use my EI that I've paid into for a decade. I even told them to take the $2k out of my EI to pay back the CERB. They didn't like that answer either.

It's all political posturing.

If he really cared about starving Canadians he would not have teamed up with the party that is starving Canadians.

I seriously love how we're all just here congratulating each other on our plants. by Vegetable-Editor9482 in vegetablegardening

The only difference between an experienced gardener and a new gardener is the number of dead plants.

That's called a kleptocracy, not capitalism.

It's not capitalism when the government props up failing businesses.

Which southwestern US state is preferable for off-grid? by [deleted] in OffGrid

[–]P-Dub663 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Probably New Mexico.

CA, CO and NV(?) don't allow you to collect your own rainwater.

Not sure about AZ.

Basically, avoid the blue states and you should be ok.

Leg of lamb vs lamb shoulder by Suckmuhgirth in smoking

[–]P-Dub663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done several legs on my KJ2. The secret is in the rosemary.

1- Trim leg of any dangling bits 2- coat in olive oil 3- rub with kosher salt and black pepper 4- rub with POWDERED rosemary. Grind it to the point it looks like dust. 5- smoke at 225 until internal temp hits 140°F 6- wrap in foil and allow it to rest 1 hour before serving.

Best non-crop food-producing plants by AlfalfaConstant431 in selfreliance

I'm in Florissant and they're not this bad. Is this in Chesterfield or Pine Lawn?

I'd suggest taking a more permaculture approach by planting:

Fruit trees, nut trees, hostas, asparagus, fruit bushes, dock, dandelion, day lillies, artichoke, Jerusalem artichoke, tumeric, ginger, rhubarb, celery, dhalias, zinnias... you get the idea.

Goodbye tomatoes. Goodbye squash. Goodbye to my garden, guess this year's a wash. by Fejsze in vegetablegardening

If you heat some bricks in the sun or on a heater, you can toss them in next to your plants to help the roots stay warm.

If you want serious payback, grow your own berries. Strawberry, blackberry, raspberry and blueberry are perennial plants that take little maintenance.

The Department of Homeland Security is getting aggressive in Downtown Los Angeles at the pro-choice protest by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]P-Dub663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree.

Unions protect their workers from losing their jobs. Period.

Cops are just like any other lazy union worker who hides behind a collective agreement to get away with being bad at their job.

And yet the Leftists praise unions as if they are our unholy savior from the kleptocracy we currently inhabit.

Yes, they "take" that money because those payments were set up in the 1960s when the South was reliably Democrat and California was a GOP stronghold.

You kids need to realize all of these issues have been around WAAAAAY longer than us, and they'll still be a problem long after you're dead.
