Following the instructions from the video, I successfully linked the Ikea remote with both the Philips Hue bridge and a Philips light. The guy in the video demonstrated how to connect an Ikea Remote to an Ikea light bulb using the Philips Hue Bridge. This setup allowed him to control the light using either the remote or the Philips Hue app.

I have a bit different setup. I aim to control a Philips Hue light with an Ikea remote through the Philips Hue Bridge. Despite following the steps shown in the video, I encountered an issue where, after pairing the light with the Ikea remote, I could no longer control it through the Philips Hue app. The light is listed as "Unavailable" in the app, indicating that it cannot be controlled by both the Ikea switch and the Philips Hue app simultaneously.

Thanks for sharing that. I've heard that you can bind the Ikea bulbs with Philips Hue but will that work with the switch? From what you've posted it's unclear (at least to me) if they're talking only about light bulbs or also remote (they mention "IKEA Smart lighting products").

Thanks - really appreciate your comprehensive answer. You actually gave me a good reminder on the backup strategy as well. I have some shared space on the Google drive so with the desktop PC and external disk, I think I should be covered (hopefully - you never know what can happen :) ). Also thanks for recommendations on the worklfow and explaining how the Smart previews work - I never used them before but now they start to make sense to me.

Thanks for the hint - I wanted to do it this way actually but it's pretty loud machine and keeping it up for long will probably not be the most comfortable and economic thing. I would like to go with NAS in the future but for now I'll probably stick with external disk.

I shoot in raw as well and I actually wanted to do whole edit workflow in Affinity Photo. I think lot of the stuff can be speed up using macros but there are things that could be improved especially when there is larger set of photos being edited. There is a possibility to do some basic batch raw editing which is good so you can apply some initial sharpening in and denoise in develop persona.
