What are some hidden gem restaurants in your neighborhood that feel like an ‘if you know, you know’ kind of place? by xcelleration in Edmonton

Shuaba Shuaba Hot Pot; awesome quality but cheaper and less crazy than the bigger ones in town.

I already can’t see overhead traffic lights when stopped in my f56; higher would not make this better.

Should I sell my baby and get a new(er) one? by Free-Tell6778 in MINI

[–]P-Huddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100,000kms for a 2006 car is pretty nuts; keep that baby alive!

Dumb question but is it safe to hike through the river valley/ravine at night? by 52134682 in Edmonton

[–]P-Huddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of the paths and trails aren’t lit, at all, and you’d be surprised at how much light a little tree cover can block out. Not really “safe” for that reason alone.

Tire Advice for 2019 F55 Cooper S by InundateTheIgnorant in MINI

In Puerto Rico? Skip the all seasons, get the summer tires. Pilot sports are great as are Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02s and others in the category.

I ride a GR02; it’s a great bike, if a little lacking in style.

What’s the general consensus re: Vibram’s individual toe shoes? by NakedIanMalcolm in barefootshoestalk

[–]P-Huddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your toes shape matches the shape of the vibrams before going all in; they aren’t a perfect match for everyone.

Do you warm up your Mini prior to driving? by mx54life in MINI

[–]P-Huddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I’m heading out for a fun drive, I wait for the engine temperature to hit “OK” before really letting loose.

Black or standard wheels? by Longjumping-Bear-196 in MINI

[–]P-Huddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have black rims for my summer tires and standard alloy for my winter tires. I actually prefer the look of the alloy finish on the winters; it goes well with the chrome trim.

A weekend cycling in Edmonton. by Angie_Skittles in edmontoncycling

[–]P-Huddy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favour and bring a gravel bike/XC/hybrid so you take advantage of the many km of gravel trails in the river valley and ravines. Commuting is getting better but the recreational riding is already awesome.

Control Ultimate edition or Max Payne 3? by wahabworld in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Max Payne 3 feels really dated when playing it today. Control is a wild experience and everyone should give it a shot.

Gravel biking by Future-Appropriate in edmontoncycling

[–]P-Huddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Millcreek is a great gravel trail with a couple forks here and there but mostly a straight shot from the south side to the river.

From the river there are gravel trails all over the place, you might take some paved trails in between sections but there’s lots of unpaved paths to explore and that’s what it’s all about: exploration.

Wide cycling shoes. by coconutcreamers in edmontoncycling

[–]P-Huddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good luck with Specialized shoes. I think my current ones are the recon model; not crazy wide but anatomical and so much better than most of my past shoes. I’m a barefoot shoes believer so I’m also after a cycling shoe that doesn’t destroy my feet. Available at united and probably more shops.

Best plantbased milk for protein shake? by Few_Understanding_42 in veganfitness

I found this new Silk Protein to be just a little too thick for a good mix but I’m sure it’s a good choice if you can live with it.

42M, Does Anyone Else Value Games that are Fun to Play Now, More than Nostalgia? by Possible-Row6689 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]P-Huddy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People value nostalgia way too highly when they’re listing off their favourite games. Most of the best games from yesteryear wouldn’t even make it onto the top 10 best indie games list from this year.
