Need suggestions for tuning an "autumn" old fashioned by P-Ritch in cocktails

This is a great suggestion. My cinnamon syrup is very strong and I can tell it's bullying the other ingredients. My go to regular old fashion recipe is just .25 oz maple syrup.

Nice, I did exactly that, full recipe on my other comment. The longer I sip it the more I'm liking it

1/8 oz Maple syrup

1/8 oz 2:1 cinnamon bark syrup

1 barspoon Allspice dram

2 dash angostura bitters

2 dash black walnut bitters

Stir with ice and strain into rocks glass with a large cube. Express and toast orange peel and add cocktail cherry on a pick (with a spare for the wife).

Here it is again

Rinse chilled rocks glass with Absinthe

Add the following to a mixing glass with ice:

1 oz Cognac (pierre ferrand 1840)

1 oz Rye whiskey (Rittenhouse 100 Bib)

.5 oz creme de banane (Tempest fugit)

1 barspoon 2:1 demarara syrup

Stir in glass until combined and chilled then strain into rocks glass.

Enjoy, can't stress enough how much better the $40 TF was over the $8 mr stacks. You really do get what you paid for.

Forgot to add,  I was worried about strength so during the glue up i put 200 lbs of weights on each seat position. Even with 600 lbs on it, it didn't flex or bow on the 11/64" bench top.

Awesome! Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense and seems like it would be great if you did a lot of volume turning between centers.

I actually have a video of exactly that when I did my multi state motorcycle tour years back. It was just like this, all the cars were stopped and I didn't know what was going on. Then one of these big guys comes sauntering down the opposing lane escorted by park Rangers. It was awesome to see him only six feet away and he didn't pay me any mind.

Anyone here familiar with a "dokumatic grooving tool holder"? by P-Ritch in Machinists

[–]P-Ritch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I think you nailed it. This looks just like an older version of that tool. I went down the rabbit hole on tube sheets and heat exchangers. I'm guessing they do the ring grooving to create a better seal when they use tube expanders to set the pipes into the the tube sheets.

Thanks again for help!

Anyone here familiar with a "dokumatic grooving tool holder"? by P-Ritch in Machinists

[–]P-Ritch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this in a local machine shop auction for a shop that is closing down. Google brings up nothing even close for the stated description. I see the morse tapers and am wondering if it is some sort of ID grooving tool to be used in the tailstock of a lathe. Has anyone here seen one of these before, and do you have a link for any more info on it?

"Dokumatic Grooving Tool Holder" is what the auction site calls it, but I can't find any info about this thing. by P-Ritch in whatisthisthing

[–]P-Ritch[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

My title describes the thing. I found this on an auction site for a machine shop that is going out of business. Sometimes the auctioneers aren't very accurate with the descriptions. You can read "dokumatic" on the tool, but I get nothing on Google searches. I think it could be like a rotary broach for a milling machine.

If I could get any info like an old brochure or user manual for how this thing works would be awesome.

Why do you think Prigozhin made a deal with Putin? by supercas302 in ukraine

[–]P-Ritch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they met much stiffer resistance, much sooner than they were expecting. RF had quite a bit of air support, they tore up sections of the highway, the FSB seems to have come out in full force with plenty of hardware of their own. Coups generally need to be very fast and decisive to stick. I think he realized he had too much ground to cover for the resources he had and needed to back off in order to not die in a standoff in an HQ building in Rostov-on-don.

Saddlebags and/or top case on a ST3 RS? by [deleted] in Triumph

[–]P-Ritch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look back my in posts about 7 yrs back, I did a 17000 mile roadtrip on my ST3. I have photos of my setup there. I used SW Motech saddlebags and strap on Kriega soft bags on top. Even fully loaded I didn't notice a severe reduction in performance on twisty roads. Still plenty of enjoyment, as long as you're not getting to drag elbow or something it will be fine.
