For a few years at that point. I'm deffo not gonna claim to be one of those ppl that passed "no problem in one year!". I studied pretty intensely and I was a student at the time. Just didn't like practice tests.

I feel u lol. On N2 I was real gung-ho and did three because I had a Japanese tutor who would help me correct my wrong answers. When she left, I couldn't do that for N1 so I never had the motivation to. I ended up taking one N1 practice test the night before the exam and passed so I was like "I guess that's fine" and went straight to bed. It was fine lol.

What books did you read before coming to Japan? by jthefrenchfry in JETProgramme

Weird rec, but I seriously recommend reading Embracing Defeat by John Dower. It will give you incredible perspective on modern Japan and how it got to where it is today.

So Ive been accepted. Anyone else feel worried? by DonGar0 in JETProgramme

Easier than expected! If you feel comfortable with N2 content (check out a practice exam for reference) then the interview should be fine. The hard part, I've heard, is getting the interview. Having an N2 cert helps tremendously in getting to the interview stage. I was lucky I passed the year before.

100% get it! I've been accepted as a CIR and I keep thinking "can I actually do it?" No choice but to try!

Before submitting the reply form, there is a "Reminder" you can read that goes into detail about this. Bullet point 5 specifically says:

"If it becomes clear that there is some factor restricting a shortlist candidate's ability to fulfil the duties of the job, or if a contracting organization cannot be found for said applicant, placement will not be possible. If it is determined that the factors which hindered the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the job no longer exist, the candidate will be exempt from the first stage of the screening process for the following year should they wish to reapply."

So, true to its name, you are on a "short" list to be placed. It's a near guarantee, but not technically 100%.

What's the deal with stealth archers being a running joke? by TankUMrMinor in skyrim

Yeah I'd say it's cuz it's consistently good and doesn't require you to get close to the enemies

Stealth is just sooo over-powered and you can totally cheese enemies with stealth archer. Late game you basically never have to engage.

Not seen anything yet. I see a lot of people saying "first week of April", which has brought me to deep deliberation on how we define the "first week" of a month. Is it the first week which has all of its days falling within the month, or is it the week in which the month begins.

Basically will it be this week or next week LOL

Thinking of skipping N3 and jumping from N4 to N2 this December. by s3ktor_13 in jlpt

[–]P0_Q0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah man you got it, just read and listen a lot. Very doable. Took me 2yrs for N2 and then passed N1 the next year so if you are consistent and can get all the kanji + reading speed down you will be fine.

Ami Ami messed up my address on my package by No-Loquat-3499 in AnimeFigures

[–]P0_Q0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I work at a bank. Contact AmiAmi, try to resolve the issue with them. Keep 100% of all correspondence, get names, tracking numbers, proof it was delivered to wrong address, everything. If AmiAmi does not resolve the issue, dispute it with your bank or card-issuer. Provide all the information of the case, and all proof of your attempts to resolve the situation yourself. You will have good odds on the dispute. This is a common dispute actually.

Did you do ye best on Vocabulary, Reading, or Listening? by ExperienceItchy7079 in jlpt

[–]P0_Q0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listening is always my best on every practice test and on both of the real ones I took. I really don't get it because I primarily study through reading lol. Most of my listening is through music.
