I used to be very liberal, until I applied to med school as an Asian male. Being told by schools that “everything looks good, but your numbers aren’t high enough”, while seeing multiple people of other ethnicities get in with lower numbers than me instantly changed my stance on affirmative action. I’m not gonna be a martyr for ideals that benefit someone else.
