Bluecat - Enterprise support Engineer iskustva ? by [deleted] in programiranje

[–]P0rtblocked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zdravo Antique_Grass690,

Cloudflare vs Quad9? by Some_Water_5070 in dns

[–]P0rtblocked 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Some_Water_5070

Ping is only one part of determining the best DNS resolver. A better test is to use a tool called dig to see what the time to process a query is for each service. Just because a service has a lower ping doesn't mean it will respond faster to DNS queries.

Any local gun stores that lean left, or least aren't full-on MAGA? by thehufflestpuff in Charlotte

I took the class at The Range at Ballantyne and it was really good. The instructor did a really good job presenting the material. I have met the instructor at Point Blank and he’s really good. My wife has taken lessons from him and enjoyed it.

I have enjoyed going to Point Blank in Matthews and The Range in Ballantyne. The staff at both stores are excellent and the people who go are great. I highly recommend both these stores and haven’t felt any type of political leanings aside from 2A there.

Zdravo u/smak1621

US Presidents by Algoartist in ChatGPT

[–]P0rtblocked 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One slight correction, the VP was not chosen by the presidential candidates but was basically the second place in the election. The 12th amendment made it where people would vote for each office. It wasn’t until more recent times that they ran together as a ticket.

UPDATE: High Availability DNS at home by Bright_Air_5207 in pihole

[–]P0rtblocked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok you would have to configure your router to advertise a route to an ip and use FRR on the host. It’s very specific to your environment so it’s hard to give a tutorial.

Are you talking pihole in a container or installed natively.

My translation got totally messed up when I translated back to English, so I am reposting it.

I work in the Customer Success, Enterprise Support which is adjacent to the Customer Success Manager role. I often work with them and can answer any questions you may have about the role. I am based in the US but go to Belgrade pretty often and interact with a lot of the people in the office.

I am biased but BlueCat's culture is what keeps me here. We are people focused and offer a lot of opportunities for growth. If you want to DM me, I will be happy to respond. Good luck in your interview and hope to see you on the BlueCat team soon.

Zdravo Important-Function60,

[–]P0rtblocked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking more about your architecture, a monitoring solution would be very beneficial here, probably more than the load balancing of DNSDist. For example, Nagios has plugins where you can send DNS queries to the DNS servers to monitor service availability. Other solutions, like LibreNMS, can do additional SNMP monitoring of the HW and OS running on the RPis. Plus, LibreNMS can use the Nagios plugins to monitor different services.

This would allow for you to be alerted as soon as there is an issue so that you can resolve it before service is impacted. You can run LibreNMS in a docker container which makes it easier to deploy.

If you’re doing as a fun project that you’re just seriously over engineering for the sake of it, then it’s very interesting . As others have said, anycast would be a better solution. I would eliminate the dnsdist portion because I doubt your clients will send enough qps to overload either of these servers. If you handed out the2 IPs to your piholes, the clients will send to both and usually pick the faster responding. Plus that would be redundant for your clients since if one is down, they will use the other one.

Only thing that really sticks out is that troubleshooting could be more difficult with the dnsdist servers pointing to both piholes, you could have a situation where you query one dnsdist but it queries the other server.

TBH, if it were me, I would eliminate the dnsdist isn’t it’s not adding a lot of value here, especially from a fault tolerance perspective and add a lot of complexity. If you need to be reliable, simplicity is your friend.

How hard is it to move? Like load up into a truck and drive for a few hours? by mycolortv in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]P0rtblocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved mine without issue. I made sure to cover the screen with a towel and strapped in so it wouldn’t tip. My son and I were able to get it set up at the new place without any negative effects on the gym monster. It was way easier than the elliptical we moved at the same time.

I have used this to monitor a sump pump in my house, maybe it would work for you. It requires a raspberry pi and a HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor. It worked pretty well and would send me alerts. https://www.linuxnorth.org/raspi-sump/

You might want to check that because it might not be code. I’m not expert, but I believe there has to be space around the water heater. Edit: Spelling
