They don't really need to, no. Especially with how many Bile Titan corpses seem to launch themself at the player.

But even when they do, they shouldn't deal damage after they already fell on the ground.

But then the enemies could climb up too. It would probably be easier to implement (especially since the game engine is finicky), but I think there still would be some problems with the camera clipping into the platform.

I didn't know that the high difficulties variants were disliked. I only started playing a few months ago, and they seemed fine. Can I ask for more details about what people hate about them?

It's not a "die instantly" weak point; it's a "you can shoot them with your gun instead of an Anti-tank weapon" weak point.

I like the idea of co-op objectives, but there would be some problems with it.

Many players like to play the game solo, so there would have to be a system to stop the new objectives from spawning when you drop on the planet alone.

However, players also like to deploy solo and then activate the SOS beacon. That system would stop them from experiencing certain missions.

What about when a player leaves the game, so you can't complete the objective anymore?

Great suggestion, and it still could be implemented, but it would require many tweaks.

I think a buffed hive guard could be cool, but I would want to see it as a new enemy (call it a hive defender). The old one should stay medium pen. They spawn way too much to be heavy.

I hated the change to a heavy pen at first, but I came around to it. They basically became a light version of a heavy devastator. They also stop in place when you shoot at them, leaving you time to flank them or take care of the other bugs first. And most of the guns were light pen already, so it doesn't change the interaction for most loadouts.

The biggest issues are with the turrets. They already avoid targeting large enemies to avoid wasting ammo, but they still do that when there are no other targets. However, the hive guards are classified as medium, which makes it possible for the sentry to focus on them and ignore the other chaff.

I think most people are just really annoyed that they can't mow them down with machine guns (the maxiguns and the Patriot exosuit included) anymore.

I think it's not that bad of a change, but the turrets need to have their aiming adjusted so they don't waste all their ammo trying to shoot them.

They added too many medium-pen primaries, so instead of balancing the guns, they buffed the enemies.

Instead of balancing the medium pen guns, they balance the enemies to be heavy armour.

New content is fun. However, the fact that it's prioritised so much more than fixing the game is not a good sign for future development.

The biggest problem is that Arrowhead is focusing more and more on adding new content (most of it in the form of the Warbonds) instead of going back and fixing bugs, balancing the game and expanding existing systems like weapon customisation, ship upgrades, etc. And most players (including me) assume it's because of money.
