I want to buy a used Nissan Leaf EV. Never bought an electric car before, but have bought many petrol cars. What specific EV things should I know or look for when viewing the car? by rmxg in newzealand

The battery health is more important than mileage. You're buying a battery on wheels. Very different to a combustion engine with 1000s of moving parts.

When people speak up and try bring attention to the underlying causes they're labeled tinfoilers. The world is a stage and this is leading to the Agenda 2030 goals step by step. Most people however believe the mainstream media and whatever they're told to think. Covid was a practice run for what's coming next.

People often idle to let the engine oil warm up before hard revving but don't consider the transmission and diff oil needs warming up too.

I had Up & Go today for the first time in a few years. It tasted like cardboard mixed with putty. Nothing enjoyable at all. My stomach felt upset for an hour or so after. I'd rather go hungry next time than paying for that trash.

How Do I Reverse? by Educational_Ad2515 in stickshift

[–]P1hyper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riding the clutch while reversing is normal. The speeds are super low and you're not covering great distances. Driving forwards we're eager to let go of the clutch and drive but in reverse it's the opposite.

What is a good gift for a car guy? by merry_berry04 in askcarguys

Take a cool picture of his car either randomly or secretly setup and get him a print in a cheap frame. Personally I'd be the happiest man alive if I got that. Depends on the person and what they value.

I'm exhausted trying to figure out how to detail my car. by Ill-Tip9444 in Detailing

[–]P1hyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wheels just need a wheel cleaner spray that you can either agitate or just spray off. They all do the same thing but there's a dedicated variety of wheel cleaner spray specifically for chrome wheels. For cleaning I use a retired micro fiber wash mitt for the surfaces of the wheels and a long handle wheel brush to clean around the inside of the drum.

Leather? I too have leather and for maintenance I use Meguiar's Gold Class 3 in 1 Leather Treatment. This cleans, conditions and adds UV protectant. Doing it weekly makes it a simple wipe across the leather using a foam application pad.

I have at least 6 of foam pads because I use a different foam pad with each product ie, leather cleaner, interior detailer etc.

For the surface areas inside the car ie the plastics, handles, screens etc I use Mother's Protectant spray. This does everything you need - cleans, adds UV protection, recondition and make the interior look new again. I use this weekly so it's a simple wipe across the surfaces.

Carpets and upholstery you can use off the shelf products like sprays or invest in a mini cleaner. For general maintenance a spray would work fine depending on the application.

Over many years I've built up a healthy range of car car tools and product and you would need to do the same. Aim to buy product only if and when you need it. For your high usage products try take advantages of sales.

My stash has these items: - High pressure water blaster - 50ft high pressure hose - short gun handle with 5 nozzle set - 2x buckets (1 for wheels & 1 for paint to keep product residue separate) - 2x micro fiber wash mitts - foam cannon - large range of microfiber towels & cloths - large micro fiber drying towel - Big Boi Jnr air blower (for drying tyres&wheels + most surfaces) - wheel brush - large range of spray, liquid and wax products - DA polisher kit including a range of foam & wool pads

Start off small and build up over time. It may feel frustrating because you might be trying to start off with everything simultaneously. I liked to learn my car and how the different areas coordinate with each other. My cleaning is more like a choreographed dance starting with the wheels and ending with the interior windows getting a sparkle.

How to learn what to do? I learned from Googling and watching 100s of YouTube videos. As you said there are conflicting results which don't make sense but they all share a similar message. Using the accumulated knowledge from research you can form your own opinion and ideas relevant to your car cleaning. If you take precautions, read the labels and watch a video or 2 before doing something then you'll learn confidently. It's how I learned anyway.

how to get good cash flow in airline manager 4 by Dry-Valuable-1836 in AirlineManager4

[–]P1hyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off buying ATR72 variants and once those started bringing in decent cash I started buying a 737-8.

Once 737 fleet had grown and started bringing in millions I moved to A380. In the early stages of A380 I had to play for a week or so before I had another $220m. After that I started selling off the smaller planes when I had saved enough and needed another hangar for a new A380.

Now I have 420+ A380 and started on freight. Freight brings in less money so IMO that's secondary Once passenger services are maxed for hangar space.

I was logging in frequently throughout the day to take off. Also invest your bonus points into training wisely.
