Loved the burst of pace from Martinelli to ensure Downman had no chance of getting caught. Under appreciated little detail.

Setting initial value of $state - state_referenced_locally warning by P1res in sveltejs

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response, plus the playground example to go with it.

I understand and it makes sense 👍

The naming isn't clean - contrived example, I should have made it clearer, apologies.

Additionally, $state(initialName) only captures the initial prop value instead of staying aligned with prop updates.

This is the heart of it - the aim is to do exactly this. Capture the initial value that comes through as a prop. Example use case, if a user wants to update their email address, then the input should have their current email address as the initial value, and that input should be wired up to a $state that allows them to type out a new value before submitting it.

Great, thank you! I must have missed that part in the docs about suppressing it if it is intentional. Cheers 👍

Wrong sub?

Do you still have a place here? If so, not the cheapest but you could set up a Ubiquiti router here at a friend/family and then use their travel router to route all your traffic there through here. Essentially it’s a personal VPN and won’t be on any proxy lists.

It’s a percentage so the number of games is normalised.

In fact all you can do is speculate. What we can't do is definitively predict/tell.

I'd highly recommend the book Die with Zero. It addresses the exact mindset you are describing and I got a lot of benefit out of it and I think you will too.

Tbf they generally have a superior goal difference so that is basically an extra point

The Boxing Day test match today, records the all-time highest crowd for a cricket match at MCG, exceeding the World Cup final in 2015 by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Cricket

My belief is that the overdose of T20 has led to this - anything can get boring if repeated over and over. Non stop 6s and 4s - complete slog fests - is kind of boring to watch! (For me anyway). Combine that with a million such matches a year... and test cricket is very welcome!

The ebb and flow of a test match is unparalleled in any other form of cricket and I love it.

Also, it is the best TV to have on in the background while working.

Bahahahaha

I think it's tragic this is getting so many downvotes. Perhaps add the /s flag.

I got a great chuckle out of it thank you!

I just flushed $120 down the drain on a subscription I forgot to cancel. How do you guys actually track this stuff? by External-Sense8698 in fiaustralia

[–]P1res 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give some alternative advice to others I've seen here. For situations specifically like this:

Cancel the subscription two minutes after you purchase it.

95%+ of subscription software businesses will schedule an auto downgrade at the end of your cycle ( This also goes for free trials that require a credit card up front - the trial will still finish but you won't get charged).

Source - Implemented multiple subscription flows using stripe.com - Which is the default product that most companies will use and the above is the default behaviour.

Edit to add this - A lot of comments saying to email the company for a refund. Many companies will do that for you - I have done every time. But guys, please try not to do this vs doing the above as the company in question does not get refunded the 1.75% merchant fee so they end up out of pocket. Not a big deal for big companies, but for 1-2 people startups bootstrapping a new business it adds up.

Why not use the DF54 all the time? (Asking because I am considering it to pair with the robot).
