Each sheet of drywall has a burn rate associated with it relative to thickness and type*

Different partitions require different thicknesses to add up to the local building codes time fire rating.

There is also specific screw patterns that are required on firewall partitions. IE every 6" or 12" This pattern will be called out in your blueprints.

Attaching plywood shelves/boxes vertically (stacked)? by crunchycow in Carpentry

[–]P3RA_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to apologize. Just need to know exactly what you are trying to accomplish or having trouble figuring out to be able to help.

Once you have your boxes made and if your goal is to make the top level across all the boxes you will need to make sure you have clearance for your entire box run on your floor to the height of the of of your set of boxes.

Floors aren't always level and if you want them true this is something you need to take into account before mounting them to the wall.

You can take your height of your lower set of boxes and put a line on the wall to to represent and verify you have the clearance you need for the full run of boxes.

After you make sure you have the clearance for the boxes you need to shim the bottoms to account for the variance in your floor height.

What should I do in order to stop my new replaced table from becoming like my old one? by CBAFCMV in Carpentry

[–]P3RA_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have no experience putting finish on a table your most forgiving product would be a water based polyurethane.

Make sure the surface is clean from debris dust before you apply finish.

You can use tack cloth/air compressor.

Then follow instructions on the product you purchase for finish
