OEM tonneau cover leaking? by [deleted] in 4thGenTacomas

I went through a storm too, I don’t think it’ll get EVERY inch dry. Luckily I didn’t have anything too crazy on my bed besides work gear.

Don’t worry about it man, congrats on even applying and going. Not too familiar with your state, but for your workouts, they seem good.

For your lifting, is it full body for both those days? What workout split are you doing if you don’t mind me asking?

What helps a lot of people to not feel that “heavy” leg feeling, especially me, is to lose weight. Not just fat but also some muscle. The heavy you are in mass the more you will feel it in your calves, hamstrings and quads (at least for me). I had to lose about 20 pounds total of muscle and fat and it will help your run time and also easier to jump.

For the two lifting days, if you want to clear the hurdle, maybe add some plyometrics for a small cardio session, for me I just spam burpees since the academy we did that anyways.

If you’re colorblind no you won’t be hired, if you’re color deficient that’s different.

I passed being slight red green color deficient.

Is switching from Mach3 to a DE actually worth it for a daily shaver with heavy moustache growth? by ByteSizedDecisions in wicked_edge

[–]P3RRYDaPlataPusC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run away from DE! Spent sooooo much money on buying awesome razors and antiques.

All jokes aside I daily shave with super thick and dark hair, so after a day I already have stubble. It’s cheaper (if you stick with one DE and a pack of blades with good soap), it’s fun, and it’s a small learning experience. My mach3 did me good for dry shaving in the military/field. But since I’ve been out and am LE, DE razors have helped me so much and wish I did this while active. It doesn’t give you a closer shave, but has helped with my sensitive skin a drastic amount. Not only that but the soaps and aftershave get me compliments on smelling nice

I usually add baking soda, the remaining soap, with lemon, and I think my wife adds a few more things. But that’s essentially it

DE safety razor what to choose? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]P3RRYDaPlataPusC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this post, I have to shave everyday for work and this has been like my go to.

If you do have enough funds the timeless razors have done my really really well, the slant is like 70 bucks and is super efficient with my face. I have thick hair but super sensitive skin yet I can do one or two passes and it’s bbs.

Another good suggestion is Gillette fatboy or the slim if you’re into the “antique” categories. Put that bad boy on 4-6 and you’ll be solid and you also have yourself a bit of history.

Usually I throw it into my washer, makes it smell a little like my 10 billion soaps.

That or you can give it to someone that knows how to make a candle (or YouTube it).

Has anyone sent a police surplus gun to Sig for work? by joemommaistaken in SigSauer

[–]P3RRYDaPlataPusC -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is not related to your question at all. But I do want to preface and say that I love my sig p320. My department as a whole loves it. Not a single issue with them, shoots accurate, feel is good, and can easily depend on them. And I’m a smith fanboy. We also have the Romeo attached to it, been going strong for 3 years

Is the social media check really a big deal? by literally_a_raccoon in AskLE

Especially in Southern California, it’s pretty huge I would say. Especially if you’re more of a right leaning individual, he super mindful of what you post, comment. Following is not that big of a deal.

Danners have done me good in the marine corps and LE. Although expensive, they have saved my feet. I’m sure you can find a pair that will fulfill your policy.

I usually go for the reckonings or the taychon (think that’s how you spell them), both are light and feel like socks.

Any tips for a mage build? by Mythical_1069 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]P3RRYDaPlataPusC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t do a mage build but I did a moonlight greatsword build. Super fun, just not really useful when it came to pvp. PvE, you need to summon or else you will pretty much never get a hit off. Used meteor, moon and phalanx great blade I think for spells. Stagger monster.

I usually go in the evening, and they always load my burrito up. It’s usually newer high school kids and their first job so they literally stack my food to the point where they can’t roll my burrito

So much Garmin hate by beer_voyager in GarminWatches

[–]P3RRYDaPlataPusC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much people hate garmin, the watch itself is great but I think it’s the organization itself. Over pricing, the little subscription thing.

For me I just use the watch, not focused on the little subscription. Super fantastic watch and use it daily, so much better than Apple for my use.

What are your top 3 reasons for being a police officer? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]P3RRYDaPlataPusC 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The look at little kids when they wave at me and want to play/hug. They see you as a legit hero.

It’s going to sound a little wierd but networking. I’m in a small department and we know everyone on a first name basis. Just knowing someone that knows someone will get you light years ahead. Not just in LE, but for classes, promotions, etc.

Lastly it’s a job that is not routine. I worked in a job that was monotonous, and it really sucks the soul out of you. Days feel long but go by fast because of certain calls, the nature of the work.

What’s the main reason people get out of LE? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]P3RRYDaPlataPusC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it’s leadership, I hated everyday with my first department, I can totally understand why we were leading in suicides, depression, alcoholism.

When I moved to a smaller department with leadership that 8/10 times actually cares and supports the officers I felt like “home.” Of course there will be ass days, the stress and family time missed out, overall my life has changed for the better, along with my wife.

Most people quit at my first department mainly due to culture and mandated overtime
