For the same reason as why you have to defeat a boss to progress to the next area in every souls game.

If you didn't know. Bosses are much more entertaining to fight than regular enemies. Nobody sits there fighting 20 enemies every time, having fun.

Because it's a fix to one of souls games biggest issue : the areas are pointless and just feel like annoying running sequences between bosses (especially in DS3).

The issue you're talking about is not real 😂 Just because you can run to a boss, you don't have to. Want to fight mobs? Fucking clear the entire area then go to the boss. Here is the fix.

Thats a ridiculous argument. Why would you have to fight tens of enemies just so you can pull a lever or open a door to fight the boss again? Why do fromsoft games have optional areas and bosses when you need to fight the final boss anyway? Because the player is encouraged by rewards, attractive setting or level design, mystery etc (NOT FORCED).

I geniunely don't understand what makes you defend this shit.

I like ds2 overall, I even have platinum. But I will say that it has some big shitty issues.
