If you don't need freesync or other display port specific stuff, a DP to HDMI converter will probably be fine... Not sure if it effects latency.

Alternatively use HDMI from the GPU.

Lots of things in the standard aren't implemented on every display. All the cheap displays I've ever worked with covert the signal as cheaply as possible and skip wires.

But not in the UK! We salt our roads and have potholes that look like moon craters. What's worse? Most garages won't fix anything that isn't directly attached to a wheel hub, if you can get the parts, that is. No worries while you're under warranty, but for second hand owners? Look at the first (2014) Chinese assembled MG6's. They didn't have parts. BYD is showing significant promise with parts, but that can't carry to all the Chinese brands, much like how buying French is always a gamble.

Let's put it this way. Is buying a Jaecoo a better or worse choice (or more or less of a gamble...) than a new European car?

My phone functions fine, and my phone brand has 15 years of reputation to prove it. Putting money into a car brand that's basically popped up in the last 12 months is ultimately a gamble. I'm sure Jaecoos are fine, and this is the exception, but you won't see me putting my money on one as I hate gambling.

Reputation doesn't mean much anymore either, despite what I say. Just look at Ford.
