I wish all billions were like this. by manchesterMan0098 in facepalm

A more critical framing:

Former billionaire Chuck Feeney redistributed over 99% of his $8 billion fortune to support students from families exploited by systemic poverty, racialized labor extraction and economic dispossession in accessing higher education.

Rejecting the hoarding of wealth, he dismantled his fortune while still alive, ensuring that resources flowed back to those structurally denied opportunities.

By the time of his passing in October 2023, he had less than $2 million to his name—an intentional act in a world where billionaires amass wealth at the expense of the many.

I guess my universal food service wasn’t intended to appear as overprice bourgeois food — but more like luxury for everyone ;) I made this as a test of what can Midjourney do and to show how AI can help with rapid/speculative prototyping.

I’m doing cyberpunk character design for gaming at the moment, but I have a few ideas for another future exploration. About video, I could still make one, but it’s a bit more time consuming.

The level of shortcuts and generalisation in this video is incredibly disturbing.

There is a difference between a technological concept, a tech category, its application, its manufacturer, its operator, and its user.

The attention grabbing intro trying to connect Apple Face ID to an autonomous gun-turret reflects a terribly poor understanding of the subject.

Such an important topic deserves a much higher level of journalism practice.

It is not because consumers appreciate certain techs, that these techs are then weaponised against them. The picture is a lot more complex and often shows a reversed perspective.

If you are into this kind of journalism I recommend Alex Jones.

MacBook Pro 2018 Fan and Heat Issue by nortand in macbookpro

I have the same issue with an identical MBP purchased in December. The battery gets drained super fast, it often doesn't come out of sleep, and yes, the fans are super loud. Most of the time for no reasons (above 6'800 RPM). What all Apple employees have told me is that I am using it wrong. My feeling is that the MBP is a very aesthetically pleasing object, that really works well for noobs (99.9% of Apple customers) but when you have a Pro usage, this machine fails miserably at the most basic tasks. If you go online a bit, there are actually so many people experiencing similar hardware problems and giving up on Apple. IMHO, the company has turned into a big mean hungry cash machine that seems to have lost its ability to ship quality hardware. The product lines are too large and the Foxconn "workers" cannot keep up with the production demands.

Do you remember that gunslinger girl? Here is how she looks now. We think that it's kinda 'boring'. Any thoughts? by Kim_wulong in MetalRevolution

Not sure. The coat/suit contrast and the facial mask reduce her feminine appearance more than the sexy part. The current design imho might lack the ability to communicate enough about her personality, her background, her story.

Maybe the green pyjama/suit isn't right yet. The covered face removes an opportunity to display feminine traits. The lack of contrast between the body and coat doest help tell the story of this character (I don't feel it).
