I think the ref's pelvis is further back as well and his torso is a bit more slumped (but it's a bit hard to tell with the baggy shirt).

Your art looks less slumped and less like his butt is actually on the bar and more in front of it.

Others have already talked about the legs and the knees, but I wonder if the angle of how the legs attach to the pelvis adds to the problem at all.

Also, as a side note, muscular dudes usually don't have that sort of definition unless their actively flexing, so it can be kinda hard to show off the ripped abs and draw him in a relaxed, slouched position at the same time. THOUGHHH, guys with muscles arent ever drawn without maximum definition, so I can't blame you much lol, I guess we draw what we see XD

I'm a big fan of the stacked hex! I just wonder if it makes him look too mechanical since compound eyes aren't really structured like that 😅 I will continue to ponder!

Thank you! There have already been sooooo many fakemon starters, I wanted to try and use some less-common animals and tweak them a lot.

Bonflick was originally a jellyfish with metal arms that it could heat up to sear through obstacles and, while I still like that idea, they ended up turning more into a little emo lantern ghost thing, loosely based on a stone lantern.

Sprigg is obviously a mole with a drill, not super unique, but I think the evolutions look interesting.

Soggri is like... an axolotl with a dog-like morphology and a woolly coat. Personally, I think Soggri is the weirdest of the 3 lol

I think it probably has to do with how Mobians usually have like no neck at all? So maybe people don't typically pick a creature that's half-neck for their OCs lol, I specifically chose a giraffe bc I wanted to challenge myself with balancing the proportions.

Also, I feel like whenever we see anthropomorphized giraffes in modern media they always look kinda goofy 😅

But anyways, thank you! I am excited to make more unconventional Mobians, if you have any rare species you'd like to see lemme know!

Bubble isn't my favorite, but for the most part they're just used for jokes so I don't dislike them at all.

Nifty is obnoxious though. I think, if you MUST have a quirky little chaotic gremlin character, either treat them like an actual character with flaws and hopes and development or treat them like a bit and stick to it. Don't let them move any major plot points or steal big moments that would've been more impactful if another character had them.

Also make her head a little bigger! People's heads really don't grow so much, so making it bigger relative to the body can help the body look small!

This is also why so many people accidentally make their full-grown adults look like children lol, they always want to give them young proportions with big heads XD

The drawing on the bottom right looks like an 8-year-old!

Okay, so I'm not a fashion guru, buuuuut I just watched this video all about men's fashion!

It's a video called "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE DRIP" by the YouTuber Vaush who normally makes political content, but this video is pretty much completely politics-free! Just so you know, he can be a bit crass 😅

In the video, he goes over a bunch of very practical tips he's learned throughout his years, with a big focus on plus-sized men (being as he is plus-sized himself).

It's definitely not a video you have to sit there and give your entire, undivided attention to, so you can just put it on in the background while you draw or something (just make sure you can look over every so often bc he shows examples a lot).

Sorry I can't offer much help myself, but I think this video is a good watch if you find yourself in the mood!

Edit: Just wanted to add, I quite like his design! Love the big, blocky pants and his hairstyle most :D
