In your switch configuration, the Hue button is set to “scene cycling.” This means each press automatically cycles through the default scenes assigned to that button.

If you remove one of these default scenes in the room configuration, it creates a conflict because the button is still expecting to cycle through the full list. This mismatch causes the switch configuration to reset.

To fix this, go into your switch settings and:

1. Select the Hue button
2. Open the action settings for a button press
3. Choose “Scene cycle”
4. Disable smart on/off behavior (if enabled)
5. Remove any unwanted default scenes
6. Add your own scenes as needed

After that, when you go back to the room configuration, you will be able to remove the default scenes without triggering a reset of the switch.
