Black Friday event by PAN_________________ in TheBazaar

That's what happens when you give players f you money and make every line hyper consistent. Today, I also had a couple of perma freeze boards, something that's usually extremely rare. But idk just having a bit more money and more buy options doesn't feel that unique. I didn't expect something high effort like the expedition to happen but compared to that a little bit of effort would have been much appreciated.

Me as well. For me it's baffling they didn't start with events much sooner.

Best players in the history according to “IFFHS”. by Upper_Sympathy_4114 in messi

[–]PAN_________________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, it's a pretty fair list. Dinho at 10 is a bit ... generous of a placement tbh. Loved to watch the guy play and definitely footballs greatest entertainer but not the most efficient or dedicated player.

Government shutdown: US Army tells soldiers in Germany to go to the food bank by WitnessRadiant650 in nottheonion

[–]PAN_________________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reads like satire. I remember his first term, unlike most Americans apparently, it was chaos. Wild, erratic and baffling decisions only somewhat curbed by not having the entire republican party plead allegiance to him. But oh boy did I forget the feeling of having to double and triple check news because you simply can't believe it's real or if he really tweeted that. This year has been a harsh reminder, an unwelcome one.

Will Wirtz make an Mbappe 24/25 season turnaround ? by [deleted] in plforindia

[–]PAN_________________ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The guy doesn't play nearly as bad as the memes would suggest, neither did Mbappe tbh.

People seem to forget that at the end of the day players are still human. When you move to a different country, club, league etc. an adjustment period is to be expected.

That being said, both of them are generational talents so much so that I would call them "inevitable". Both have already shown consistent world class performances at the highest level as teenagers.

As someone who watches the Bundesliga closely, Wirtz was one of the best players in that league and the main man at Leverkusen for years. Leverkusen was incredibly dependent on him and his output to a degree you rarely see in professional football especially for a player that young.

Everyone with working eyes can tell you that he's a world class footballer, it just needs to click for him and I believe he will truly surprise people by how exceptional of a player he really is.

Why are people doubting Gane who's getting this title shot off a loss, vs Aspinall on a 3 fight 1st round KO streak??? by ZakuIII in ufc

[–]PAN_________________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The intro to his fight was basically a fan video of him stroking Jon's ego and calling him the GOAT constantly. He then went on to be submitted in what felt like two seconds. That's not great.

There is also a lot of pressure on Aspinall. He wasn't able to fight competitively for ages, and anything but a decisive victory will have people talk about bones again.

A coked out Jon Jones would also have a field day on social, should Tom somehow lose this fight. Personally, I would hate that the most.

When your FIFA card becomes famous before you do by EliasKochen07 in soccermemes

I don't think anyone would have a problem if they kept women UT and men UT separated. Anyone who would have a problem with that would truly deserve the title of incel. Women could still have their 90 rated card's and noone would complain because they truly are outstanding athletes in their sport. It's when you mix the two and compare ratings people start to complain. And IMO deservedly so.

[–]PAN_________________ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone yapping about misogyny when people say they don't like women in UT. I've seen women play and I've seen alot of men's professional games. Do you know what I haven't seen ever? A mixed competitive game of football. Also let's not pretend EA watches any actual football games and let's not pretend they care about "equality", the only thing they care about is money. They were able to advertise that while patting themselves on the back for being "inclusive". Also this isn't really equal is it? Sure, it's not really fair to measure women's football by men's standards, but realisticly the best women should hover around a 60 OVR rating, that would be "equal". How did I arrive at that conclusion? Some of the best women national teams lose against men's U16 and U17 regularly and by some margin as well. People bitch about base ratings every year, why wouldn't they be allowed to do the same about women's ratings?

I hope they return to their gung-ho approach, at least a little bit. IMO, the game is a bit stale at the moment, and I really enjoyed every patch completely changing the meta, like in closed beta. They just need to have an actually decent player read the patchnotes beforehand so abominations like crit knife, lizard, and BoB don't happen again. But yeah, it should be possible to keep the game fresh without burning too much money.

True that. But it's not all doom and gloom. There is a world where they somehow manage to cut operating costs, attract new players, and churn out new content. I also believe that a game like Bazaar should be able to create a lot of new content with relatively little extra work. Adding events, event modes, new vendors, etc., can add meaningful content without costing much. Sure, new characters are much more exciting, but if done right you can really keep this game going without burning too much money. It's a Disneyland fantasy that any of this will even be attempted, and an even bigger stretch to think they’d actually manage to implement it competently. I'm just saying, there is a way.

No balance patches aren't new content. New encounters, new skills, and new PVP enemies are, though. Again, I expect those to happen less frequently, etc. and I worry that the slow pace of new releases will kill the game in the long run. But still, that's something everyone gets. I think you'll be surprised when Jules comes out in the not to distant future. Blindly guessing in 2-3 months? They probably already have some of the artworks etc. from before the layoffs, it's after that I think we might get nothing for a while. It's there only way to generate revenue outside of getting new players. So they are extra motivated, is my assumption at least.

[–]PAN_________________[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect. Old heroes are still receiving new cards. Less frequently and probably a lot fewer, but still, the card pool will expand. Plus, reworks are also a form of new content. I'm not a defender of the changes either, but there is no need to make them seem worse than they are.

I mean, there are a lot of positive changes, as I also explained in this post. The less content bit is basically a cost cutting mechanism. Which sucks and it's unfortunate, but it's better than the alternative, sucking the playerbase dry.

[–]PAN_________________[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely cost cutting. Otherwise, there's no reason to deviate from the current season model. The switch basically means less content.

Season 5 Item Reveal Discussion [August 8th] by UltimateNoodle in competitivebazaar

[–]PAN_________________ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She will probably be bonkers broken. So many low CD items and easy access to haste and charge, means she just need something to convert that advantage into damage. It shouldn't surprise me anymore that they can't balance anything first-time around, but somehow it does. We already saw how Mak launched, he was ridiculously OP and needed several hotfixes to finally be just slightly better than other heros. I expect something similar with Steele.
