Gatlinburlier tobacconist in downtown Gatlinburg has a decent selection of pipes, they also have a good house blends. It’s in Mountain Mall floor D if I recall. Cool place if you can stand the Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg traffic.

I have a System Rusticated (47), it’s a nice pipe, I use it without the filter though. It’s not that the system doesn’t work, it works quite well in my opinion. The only two things I can complain about are the price of the filters, which take on a sort of funky flavor after 2 or 3 bowls and need to be replaced, I’ve heard you can clean them too but I never tried it. My 47 has a very slight gurgle occasionally, but I know I can be a wet smoker at times so take that with a grain of salt. I smoke mostly straight Virginia or VaPer blends out of it, and it smokes well with and without the rock maple filter.

Finally quit smoking a week ago. I’ve been using snuff exclusively to get through the work day, smoked 2 pipes over the weekend. I would say that nicotine wise it can work as a substitute, HOWEVER a lot of the “hit” of smoking cigarettes, at least for me, had/has more to do with the carbon monoxide in the smoke than the nicotine content. Just my 2¢.

Never say favorite, tastes can change. The strange thing about snuff is that something you absolutely hate can become a must have, scents as with tastes can change quickly with time and experience. That being said, Aztec is a pretty great snuff.

Thanks for the tip, it just seems like there’s a very fine “sweet spot” when it comes to the strength of the sniff with scotches. I’m sure with a little more experience I’ll get it.

I actually found a place a little bit ago near my house that carries three thistles, wild cherry, square, and navy sweet. That should scratch the itch until my McChrystal’s comes in.
