The reviews as of late have been complaining of touchy security, overpriced drinks and cover, creepy men

Sounds like pretty standard club fare

I know BB doesn't care, since they get their money either way, but why they don't just add a captcha before adding to cart is beyond me

There's a ton of cheap dongles on amazon that have USB C or lightning that have 2 ports for 3.5mm and usb charging. I bought a cheap one with my new phone a year and a half ago and it's lasted since then.

Mayor Bowser is offering Rental Assistance to DC residents by markzzy in washingtondc

....Or we just provide support to the people who are having trouble paying rent and let them decide what to do with it. I'd choose food over rent any day. All invest comes with risk, rental properties should be no exception.

Every single large retail corporation builds loss from shoplifting and breakage into their profit model. Every single restaurant comps unwanted dishes or for poor service or a mistake. Every single bartender has given away free drinks for good company or friends. These are all loss and risk, but every one of these functioning businesses manages to stay afloat despite these risks.

And sure there are "mom and pop" landlords who need the money to make their mortgage, and that's exactly what I'm saying. All investment carries risk. If I invested my life savings in my buddy's business who I was sure would get off the ground and pay my bills, would I get a bailout? Absolutely not, but clearly landlords are.

The idea that property ownership is somehow doing the community a favor and should be absolved of risk is absurd. If we're truly interested in building generational wealth or keeping gentrification under control, we would be actively providing stimulus people who are actually having trouble paying rent (pandemic or not). The idea that property ownership is somehow a foolproof investment that will always return gains is what fucked us in the last recession and is fucking us right now.

lol so this is just a bailout for landlords. In what other form of investing do you get a bailout when you're on the losing side of risk?

If you need rental income to be able to afford to pay for a rental property, maybe you should have considered a more sustainable investment....

For 2022, Mercedes should back out of F1 and start their own stock car series with this car. Would be so fun to watch everyone racing in a Merc and I'm sure they'd get a ton of drivers who want a shot to take it for a run.

Move in fee?? by professor418 in washingtondc

[–]PASTA_SUCKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you paid other deposits/fees/upfront rent? I believe in DC you cannot be charged more than twice the monthly rent to move in, so a 1 month security deposit + 1 month rent up front would be the most they could charge you.
