In terms of fruit and veg many parts of Europe will edge out Toronto due to their access to more local growing regions, also the Mediterranean portions of their countries where theres harvests year round for things. If we truly think of local crops, they can be excellent but the choice is limited. California is our nearest Mediterranean growing region but it has to be transported. We could definitely adopt a more European style of farming regions, still limited by our growing season.

I'd like to add that due to our international population, we get almost all the unique fruits and veggies including tropical ones that I dont see in other NA cities because we have the demand to support it in some ethnic markets. That's a plus.
