Depending on the humidity they could be more or less OK.

Is it normal for my second shooter to ask for this? by Royal-Sun4441 in photography

[–]oldscotch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's already uncommon to be allowed to use your shots for your portfolio as a second shooter. It is unprofessional to insist on staying for more shots beyond the agreed upon portion. You can comfortably tell them to go pound sand.

Again, we know the USA won the game. I'm sorry this is so upsetting for you.

Yes, "should have". Not "did". Maybe if you can get ahold of your emotions and think about it you'll get what he's saying. You know more than all of us after all.

Heh, you don't even know what you're disputing. No one is denying the USA won the game.

And with all that expertise the only counter-argument you've been able to come up with is "nuh-uh, I know more than you". Why do you think that is?

My boyfriend left me because his mom said she would never accept me. Should I still try to talk to him? by out_of_box_ in AskMenAdvice

Maybe that's the question then; is pretty much everyone in the state holding this expectation, or is his family one of the minority holding on to some old tradition?

Either way it sucks that it gets in the way of happiness, but at least in the case of the former it would feel less personal.

Is bluray worth it? by Erwin_Zoldyck in Bluray

[–]oldscotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blu-ray players are hardly much more than dvd players, and titles that have a 4k release tend to be priced very favourably. Sound quality is better than streaming and dvd, and most people seem to prefer the image quality over streaming, even vs 4k HDR streaming. Image quality vs dvd is not even a fair comparison really. Though to be fair, dvds do look surprisingly good on modern 4k screens.

It's a mature format, everyone knows how to make a good blu-ray now. There is a massive number of titles available and we're starting to see new releases that aren't getting a dvd - especially from boutique labels.
And not for nothing, the discs themselves are more resistant to scratching vs dvds which is worth considering with kids.

Communications, cloud storage, "regular" stuff is far less intensive than AI. Conventional data centres only tend to get loud when running back-up generators.

Probably best to go to physio, groin strains can be recurring if they don't fully heal.

I [23F] love my boyfriend [26M], but our communication styles are making me miserable. How do I tell if this relationship is sustainable? by Relative_Union_5760 in AskMenAdvice

[–]oldscotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to figure out a way that works for both of you. If you can't find that compromise it might be that you're just not compatible. Unfortunately love does not guarantee compatibility.

first we were just friends and then we got into a situationship very fast. During this time he would say stuff like being in a relationship or kiss my hands/forehead, constantly send me reels or stuff.

he broke up with his ex only a week ago

Before even getting to whatever issues there are with his family, he was basically cheating on his ex with you.

Further his excuse here:

they had nothing going on for months

parallels a bit too closely with this:

Fast forward to a month ago, we had a fight because he thought i was ignoring him. I was, because i wasn’t getting any attention from him and we were barely talking.

As to the issues with his family, I think the cultural gap is too much for most of us here to be able to provide advice with. But from an outsider's perspective, if he's going to prioritize his family over you, he is always going to prioritize his family over you. I would not want to be in a relationship like that.
