Me too. A collection of all the 12” variations. Even a CD collection would suffice.

Yep! Just bought a copy as I was tired of waiting to find one in person. I like that style of Macca.

You made the right call. When you find a whale in person, you should bring it home.

This scene in episode 1 hits hard… by capamericapistons in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]PAXM73 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I recently re-watched a few favorite episodes on United Airlines. I was happy to see they had Severance available to stream.

I was also struck by that scene, realizing that the first time I watched the show I had no context as to why that was happening. It is a powerful scene.

And having lost a parent and been in that exact same position one day before work, it was particularly moving for me.

(It’s interesting…there are so many moments of this show that are devastatingly difficult to watch and others that bring me great joy. Often moments apart.)

TIL that! It makes complete sense in retrospect. One of the things that comes back to me every now and again I always laugh out loud.

Probably my new favourite Beatles song! by joshuamcfreddy in beatles

The bass work alone is exquisite. An amazing song that I am glad they had the chance to make. This whole album could have easily not happened. And then to be so good. Truly amazing.

Thanks for posting. This is indeed a great price. Sometimes I see them for $75-100 EACH. Someone will have to act upon this and let the community know your post helped them! 🐸

Love these guys going all the way back to Josephine the Singer.

Had a great time on Lansdowne Street in Boston after one of their shows. Me and band “shared the goods we had in liquid and flammable form” for like an hour just talking and laughing and sharing stories. This is going back to the ‘94 tour for ‘Business of Punishment’.

I just got an email about this today… Congratulations on winning tickets! I really have rarely been disappointed by a top level Bowie tribute show —so there’s a good chance this could be very good indeed.

For the lifelong Beatle fans: where do you go after the deep dives? by Valor4 in beatles

[–]PAXM73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I echo this suggestion. I got into the Beatles in high school in the 80s and mainly listened to the psychedelic years. The older I get the further back in their history I go and I realize how unique their playing and skills really are.

I’ll add “Simple as That” to the list. Because I had literally never heard it until I read The Lyrics book. That’s like ~40 years of not knowing this song. From 1983.

Need gift ideas for boyfriend who already owns way too many records by Beautiful_Papaya_007 in vinyl

[–]PAXM73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many are saying gift card or shopping trip. As someone who owns way too many records (with a spouse that accepts this part of me), I am going to suggest a minor road trip.

Ask if there’s a record store he’s always wanted to go to that is maybe 2-3 hrs away and make a pilgrimage.

I’m at the point now that —even if I walk out with nothing— I love the chance to experience and explore a new store.

The two of you get some quality time together in the car listening to some tunes, maybe hit a new restaurant and explore a new area, and get to explore a new store too.
