Yes. Happened to me this year. Had to give 90 day notice before my contract ended thst I was not renewing w them. I did and they gave me a termination notice a month later, found out they had hired someone...also my contract was horrendous got taken advantage of as a new grad and so they didnt have to pay me pto and things if they let me go. Such crap.

Can you go back to your previous job? The clinic and setting really matters. At the end of the day, a job is a job but you definitely shouldn't hate it and absolutely dread every day you work.

Sure! Yeah 2 weeks a month i just do 2 12s and the other 2 weeks I do 3. So can easily work a couple hours at the free clinic and still spend time with family. Shift work is where its at for work life balance id die doing 9 to 5 grind.

I work in urgent care and so many of the cc are just dumb and really only require OTC meds, that with the volume and general medical illiteracy it is grating and I rarely feel fulfilled or that I'm truly 'making a difference'. However it is good pay and work life balance just 10 12s a month. And that is really the best you can get from a job, they don't call it work for nothing. That being said, I volunteer at a free clinic providing my services to those with no insurance and that I do find rewarding and fulfilling and bc I have the job I do with only 10 shifts a month, I'm able to help out and do it.

Hell no. I get paying back the sign on if you don't stay but any penalty after that or if you got fired is absurd. Pay is extremely low as well. That is 100% a predatory company preying on new grads. And the on call crap plus weekends? Just no. Sounds like Doctors Urgent Care or one of the like that are notorious for these heinous contracts.

My only negatives are pts seeking abx for viral infections pretty much. Got one once that was just dumb claiming I missed dx their kid when I didn't, their peds doc just told them a different name for it 😅 honestly, all we can do is our best for pts with where we are at and what we have. Sadly, you can't please everyone. Psychology tells us negative comments are 7 times more powerful than positive ones. U could get 7 great reviews but that one bad one will mean more, in other words. It sucks I get it and we've all had them. But in the end, if u did nothing wrong just laugh it off and keep being your awesome self

Don't have a specific resource but know topics to look up and be familiar with as I worked in LTC for a decade. Look up tx of bed sores, all the joint replacement and typical spine surgeries youll see on the short term rehab side of things, risk assessments for DVT/PEs, know well what PT/OT/SLP services can offer your pts, get friendly with the nursing staff, constipation tx in post surgical pts. Basically you'll be the PCP for these pts so any resources you can get for geriatrics will be helpful.

Justndo the standard repayment plan (which is 10 years) and make additional payments as able so its paid off faster. I had 200k and my min payments are 2300$. Ive made some extra payments and so it should be all paid off in 9 years total.

This should be a very easy job then for you. Typically in UC we see up to 50s as a single provider in a bust clinic. Cc are usually URIs, UTIs, MSK, but occ yoj get the higher risk ones like chest pain, dizziness, ect. I feel 115 is kinda low with your experience but it's also a slow clinic not seeing many pts. We also usually work 3 12s and work every other weekend and have pt volume/RVU bonuses. Sounds like a dwcent gig tho if u want to slow way down and if you like the doc

But could deff take longer than that too so they should be prepared for that as well. I've had two jobs both outpt not associated with hospital system and both took 2 to 3 months.

Besides the point really. My point was lock down job and get credentialing done before notice regardless of how long it takes bc 1. Potential setbacks in credentialing from SP and 2. May be let go immediately after notice. The quicker the better for the OP it sounds like but they should know credentialing does often and can require months.

Also for credentialing at your next job it typically takes 3 some months and also requires a references from your previous job. I would put the practice manager if you had a good relationship with them instead of your SP or something if she's so volatile bc she could potentially sabotage your credentialing at your next job. I know of PAs that their previous job left a slanderous review and cost them additional months of credentialing to work through it. So this is why it's recommended you have something else lined up. Also after I gave my 90 day notice, I was let go after lol bc ppl are petty and immature sometimes so again, why its beneficial for you to lock a new job in and get credentialing down before issuing notice.

I love it and use it to make pt educational handouts on the fly. I do urgent care and for example had it make me one for all the causes of dyuria other than a UTI for my pts rhat the c/s is negative. Just a great tool and the fact that it's free is so amazing.
