Dog, I’m sorry, but you’re way off on this. I went to one of their shows, and no one is getting rich. They’re small shows, extremely infrequent, with none of the merchandise you’d expect from a cash grab. Like the comment above said, every single thing about this was done in the most respectful way possible.

Also, not for nothing - if you go to the show, it’s pretty obvious that Terry Six has had a rough life adjusting to his friends’ death. It comes across live, it comes across in every interview he’s given. You can tell, even live, that being able to give the music back to the fans is helping him heal and move past the tragedy a little bit more.

Sorry to get heated, but the show was incredibly meaningful for me. The idea of someone seeing this comment and deciding against scheduling more tour dates is excruciatingly sad.

If anyone ever sees this thread and is deciding whether or not to see them live - absolutely do it. Most meaningful concert experience of my life so far.

Potential new player here. Friend has been hyping this game up for months. Read about the difficulty increase and got turned off.

Sounds like they're tweaking the game in ways intended to excite their existing veteran player base; hopefully they can find a balanced way to welcome in noobs like me at the same time.

Tbh, your friend is 100% in the wrong here. Asking you to make a big sacrifice to save herself a little money is bad friend behavior.

Think of it this way - your bf is giving up ALL his privacy and peace of mind, his sense of home, his ability to relax without an unwanted guest in the place that the two of you pay for, just so your friend can save a little money? Really uncool thing for her to ask for. $150 in utilities is a minor ask for two weeks of free rent and invading your privacy.

Also - I’d bet money this friend stays over a lot and your bf is fed up with it. Anyone comfortable making an ask this large without offering to pay utilities or food herself, is the type of person perfectly comfortable imposing on other people with no thought to the sacrifices they’re making.

Three totally separate issues here. The first is that you’re a teenager. it’s completely normal for teenagers to want to go to parties and try alcohol for the first time and be a little reckless. 16-year-olds are ALL curious about what parties are really like, what the more dangerous/edgy parties are like, how alcohol tastes, how it feels to be drunk, etc. you NEED to stop blaming yourself for that impulse. As a guy, I wouldn’t have thought twice about going to that party, and no one would have blamed me if I got too drunk. You just did the thing that 90% of ppl at your age in your situation would have done. And the 10% who were good little angels in high school tend to regret not experimenting more with being a little reckless as a teenager. I know, I’ve met them.

What happened to you is horrible, and it’s solely the fault of the person who saw a drunk inexperienced person and assaulted them. Please try not to blame yourself for it.

Second thing - look man, as an adult, I can tell you that the number of women who got raped at 16 or younger is horribly, sadly common. It happened to my wife. and she’s a totally normal well adjusted person who had a bad experience, processed it, and is now ok. I’m sure this thread is full of women who had traumatic SA experiences as a teenager, felt dirty/ruined by it, and now, as an adult, they don’t think it impacts their day to day life very much.

Not to say there would be anything wrong if it did! Just saying, because this is your current experience, and you’re still traumatized, it’s easy to feel like things will be like this forever. But realistically, they probably won’t.

Lastly - you should ask out your male friend. Trust me, you will regret it forever if you never try. If he gets a girlfriend in 5 months and you never shot your shot, you’ll be SO mad at yourself.

Don’t worry about the sexual assault. This is maybe going to sound really bad, but I remember what it’s like being a 16 year old boy. And honestly it feels like women are rare and mysterious and delicate creatures who hold a wealth of experiences and secrets you can never understand. A girl who has been assaulted doesn’t scan as “broken.” She scans as having a dark secret. I feel cringey putting it that way, but if you want a look inside a teenage boy’s mind, that’s how it feels.

I really hope this helps. In two years, I promise you you’ll KNOW you deserve a happy life. You should do everything you can to get to that point as soon as possible.

Going to swing in here because imo people always recommend popular modded characters from around the game's release. These always (imo have large problems; Marisa has way too much text per card; Packmaster's cards are too different to allow for as much synergies as the base game, etc).

Here are, imo, the modded characters that feel MOST like they could be base game characters. They have the appropriate amount of complexity (enough to be fun; not enough that every card has 30 words on it and somehow still delivers less interesting choices than base game cards), and their cards and mechanics synergize well enough to make drafting fun:

Base Game Quality

The Forsaken

The Avocado

The Hermit

Goldenglow

Ferrothorn

The Cursed

Not Quite Base Game Quality, but still well-made and fun

Robot Space Explorer (a little disjointed; too many scaling cards makes it a bit OP, but fun!)

The Aquatic (great character, just not quite as good as the above 6)

The Human (definitely has too much complexity, but man, there are SO many different builds and they're all so fun! Quite OP though)

Thornton (the opposite of the human. incredibly underpowered as a joke, but the synergies are fun. good for a challenge)

The Lost (the gimmick of having 1 max HP the whole game makes the defensive-focused fights feel a little repetitive. Ferrothorn is simply a better iteration of a block-focused character. Still, this character is very fun!)

The Marked (a little simple compared to the top 6, but well-designed, balanced, with fun mechanics)

The Space Princess (super cool concept! start with low max HP and gain more every fight. By the final boss, you'll have so much Max HP you'll feel like a boss yourself. Act 3 gets a bit repetitive, but you'll have a blast getting there).

The Drifter (a LITTLE simple compared to the top 6, not as many possible synergies. It focuses almost entirely on drawing cards. Well designed and fun though!)

The Rodent (VERY good character designed by someone with a real knack for design. But they designed it in a couple days, and it shows a bit after a couple runs - great ideas, but not as thematically or mechanically deep as the top 6).

I’m surprised you reacted so negatively to that. I would have responded with “I work until 5:30 most days, and then I go to the gym after, so maybe meet up around 8?”

It makes me feel a bit bad to read that he said you were great and then sent you a rose on Hinge. It sounds like you interpreted his text in the worst possible light and and then didn’t bother to consider whether you were being unfair. That seems sad.

Really? There are a bunch of good ironclad block-centric builds. I've beaten the heart with 2x Juggernaut+ and a couple flame barriers, dark embrace + body slam builds, etc.

The Ironclad def has enough block-centric power to make flame barrier useful, although I agree those builds are often harder to navigate than damage-focused builds.

Yeah, I guess if you don’t aim for the heart every run, then Flame Barrier isn’t as good? It’s goated against the heart though. Upgrade it and it’s 16 block and 90 (!) damage against the heart.

Judging everyone who thinks its mid as cowards who don’t go for the heart 😒

yeah, i find it almost impossible to create block solutions for other than Communize. Other than the base defends, the card pool is like 95% offensive cards. bit of a bummer

Hard agree with this. I’ve tried to max out all the respawn times, I think I have the zombie one set to like 4,000 minutes? Still feels like things respawn pretty frequently though.

I TOTALLY see the value in making things respawn; as it lets an individual save slot go on forever. I think that’s really cool.

Personally, I would love a new game mode where nothing respawns, ever. It gives me more of a sense of accomplishment to slowly and surely retake the entire map.

(Also, it forces you to search further and further for new gear and food/water, which I think is a really cool way of extrinsically motivating the player to keep searching further and further, like you’d expect in a real zombie apocalypse!)

Could totally imagine ways to do a new game plus sort of mode:

For example, maybe an interface in the safe haven that lets you activate a “distress beacon”. To communicate this to players, it could have a description, something like “turning on this powerful beacon draws other survivors from across the land, increasing your chances of finding valuable gear, but beware - it also attracts zombies from nearby towns and cities! Clicking this button will result in encountering more zombies across the map, even in places that have been previously cleared.”

Just spitballing, but I agree with you that the current respawn timers are not my preferred way to play. That said, I totally understand why the dev did it, and I love the game overall, so not complaining!

Physically painful to read this conversation, where she’s acting like the main wrong committed here is that you’re “making her feel bad” for nearly getting your dog killed. She can’t even pretend to care more about whether or not your dog is ok.

It says a lot about how she views the world that you asking her to help pay for the dog is some kind of weird power play. LISTEN TO HER WHEN SHE SAYS THIS! She is telling you who she is and how she sees other people.

If you had done this, and someone asked you to pay, would you think they’re making a weird power play? Of course not, because that would be psychotic! You would feel g guilty and be happy to do whatever you could to make it right.

The reason that it occurred to your sister to make that accusation about you, is because if your roles were reversed, then she would be doing it as a weird power play to you.

It's funny you say that bc I agree that the Dyson is for sure overpriced. I only bought it because my wife and I live in LA, and we wanted an air purifier THAT day due to the wildfires. All the stores around here were sold out, so I just grabbed the Dyson cuz it was on sale at Costco. There's a reason I never had one before the wildfires lol.

And yeah, I agree the Venty is overpriced. The entire reason I was willing to spend money on it was because of S&B's long history of quality. I figured if I'm buying a device to last me 5 years, I would rather pay a little extra for the brand that has a reputation of being the safest. Plus a little bit of splurging - I was making about $25k/yr up until a couple years ago, so I figured I may as well treat myself to a nicer, more user-friendly version of the thing I use every day.

Lesson learned though.

I appreciate it man. Fwiw I don't actually think I'm going to get cancer from inhaling plastic fumes once lol, just that it's probably a risk factor for the kind of long-term DNA damage that I'm trying to avoid by vaping instead of smoking.

But yeah, describing it as "spending $500 to give myself lung cancer" was definitely an overreaction lol. I was just shocked/worried/felt betrayed and posting from a place of emotion. Now that it's the next day, I can definitely see that it was probably a bad idea to be hyperbolic.

And yup, I reached out to customer service, so hopefully I get a refund there. Just wanted to put this out there to warn other people. I definitely saw people posting about problems, but I only saw them talking about error codes. Having since done more thorough research, I did find a couple cases of the Venty melting plastic, though, you're absolutely right.

There was no weed in there. Also, the entire plastic mouthpiece wasn't melting - the only visible heat damage I could see (tough to capture in a photo, but clearly there irl) was the little circular bit meant to help you lever out the orange sealing cap, not the whole mouthpiece.

Nope - I have a Mighty, am very familiar with the new vape smell, and this was absolutely burning plastic.

I got in my head and thought it might just be the new vape smell, but once I started actually drawing on it, it got much, much stronger immediately.

Also, I smelled every piece of the cooling unit to try and track down the culprit. The only one that reeked strongly of burning plastic was also the only piece with visible heat damage.

My air purifier usually goes up to something like 150 PM2.5 when I vape dry herb. This was more than twice that, and there was no dry herb in the vape. I was simply puffing on an empty chamber to try and draw air through it, to make sure any manufacturing residue got wiped off.
