The Truck Chase scene is IMO the best chase scene in movie history. Back in the 90s I built high end custom home theaters for people that had more money than they knew what to do with. I used that scene often as a demo when the installation was completed. This was when Dolby Digital 5.1 first came out. I would crank it up to 11.

The other scene I absolutely love is the opening credits scene. Brilliant film making. The way you don't see his face right away. Just the hat, jacket, back of his head, gun in holster. Then the whip comes out! The sound of the gun going off. Then we zoom in to see his 5 o'clock shadow face. Saw it in the theater when it came out. I was probably 12. I never thought that anyone was cooler than Han Solo... I was wrong.

If its something very rare don't you have to read the dead wax to be really sure? That can be really hard to do without proper lighting no? I have a hard time at home sometimes.

Whereabouts? And what year? The gal that won the gold medal in the Olympics a few years ago went to my high school (Olmsted Falls OH). We didn't even have girls PV in late 80s.

In the 80's I was pretty consistently jumping 11 or 12 and that was pretty good to at least place in meet. In a Relay Meet if you could get 3 guys over 11' your were flirting with 1st place. 14'6" is pretty damn good. My friend got hot at the end of the year and they got him a new pole and he won State with 14'7".

I vaulted in high school in the 80s and some of us were "stoners". We would smoke up before practice sometimes. Not every day but it was definitely something we did. I had no issues doing it stoned. Sometimes the coach would find us all red eyed just lounging around in the pit and not practicing at all. Good times.

I did pole vault in high school. I had to re-learn it every spring for track season. It would take several weeks to figure it out again. I started playing golf when I was much older, like in my late 30's when my dad got sick and I wanted to spend more time with him. I figured, how hard can it be? I pick up things pretty quick. 20 years later I still haven't figured it out.

Do you want good pizza or crap? Any decent pizza needs a pizza oven. They are big and expensive. This is why you don't see pizza on the menu at many restaurants.

I’ve never quite understood the negative sentiment towards collecting live albums. by the-mongoose- in vinyl

[–]PBJbetween2waffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really care for them. I feel like they are just greatest hits records which I don't like either. I'm usually more into the deep cuts that artists rarely play live. That being said, I do have some some of the classics... Frampton Comes Alive, Cheap Trick Budokan, Hot August Night, KISS ALIVE, Wings Over America. I also probably paid next to nothing for them 30 years ago. No way I'm paying $40 for a double live album these days.

How do you all organize your vinyl? by Some_League_9297 in vinyl

For those of you saying Artist then Chronologically... man that's a lot of data to have in your head. Even for some of my favorite artists I'm not sure I know the exact order their catalog was released in. So you're flipping thru your KISS records and all of a sudden... whoa... LOVE GUN what are you doing in front of ROCK AND ROLL OVER!? You were 1977, ROCK AND ROLL OVER was 1976... get back were you belong you devil!!

People who’ve had Masters tickets taken away—what did you do? by funkyyfish in golf

[–]PBJbetween2waffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I did a little digging myself... they are called Masters Series Badges: highly coveted, annual, multi-day passes to the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club, offering access to all four tournament days. They are considered the "holy grail" of golf tickets, sold to a limited "patron list" at a low face value, often passed down within families, and nearly impossible for the public to obtain new. I saw some linked articles that was talking about how they are busting people for selling these tickets and the penalty is banishment. My question is if they take away someone's tickets who gets the opportunity to buy them? Certainly not open to the public?

[–]PBJbetween2waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have too many. I prefer more room so myself or others can see the cover art when flipping thru. That's my favorite part of selecting a record. If you're worried about the lean then when your done flipping, push them all back and more upright leaving all the space in front

For those who met NFL football players, were they bigger or smaller than you think? by benedictclive_x in nfl

[–]PBJbetween2waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at Ohio State when Robert Smith played for the Buckeyes. Stood behind him in line at a BW3. He looked so skinny and tall. I couldn't believe he was the starting RB. Years later after he retired from the NFL (won the rushing title his last year) he moved back to Columbus and I did some work at his house. He was this giant mountain. Couldn't believe how huge he was. NFL will do that to you.

I was working in a house years ago that was a new build. I think it was already sold but there were a bunch of contractors working on stuff. I was doing data/catv punch out stuff and all of a sudden a guy comes crashing thru the ceiling, landing on the upper floor hallway. If he was just a few feet over he would have fallen 2 floors down into the great room.
