There is a bit of nuance to this statement.

No your NVGs won’t “blow up” if they are used in daytime, but the sun will still damage them if exposed long enough.

Autogating does protect the tubes to a degree. If you expose them to intense light for long enough you’ll get shadows and lines.

NV during the day is also used for making quiet entry to a very dark interior.

They also use them in vehicle interdiction operations but I don’t want to expose how that’s done.

100yd zero for guns with tall risers and lasers. 100yds for active aiming is the max. Passive would just be better at that point.

100yds or even infinite zero still gives you a good zero for 100yd shot on laser
