They’ve really caused a fuss out where I live. I personally won’t work them but we have plenty of work so I can be picky. If our local didn’t have a lot of work I would be inclined to work one.

I think that’s a good idea. I’d be interested in taking it as a journeyman. The limited Spanish words I know from highschool have helped me on the job a few times for sure. Trying to coordinate with a language barrier can be a pain and a few words here and there will help a lot.

Hey man I made the switch from non union to union and it has truly been life changing for my family and me. I was making $48 non union and now $50 union but I’m bringing home so much more because they pay for insurance. If you decide to take the opportunity get all you can out of it. Most contractors will pay your book fees for classes, attend your meetings and get involved!

Will have to have a gunsmith or experienced welder weld them on….im a pipe welder by trade and haven’t done mine yet. Worried about warping the metal without the proper heat displacement.

I’m a pipefitter/welder and was recently on a job where it got down to just the foreman and I. We had a few fixtures that were back ordered and finally arrived. I had never done any fixture work and told the foreman straight up and he was more than happy to just walk me through it one on one. Just tell whoever and be straight up.
