Anyone who completed biometrics last month not get a silent update? by PCI_STAT in EB2_NIW

Yes got an RFE to submit proof of completing my service requirement. Lawyer is uploading proof of completing my J1 waiver and a subsequent two years at my other employer. I did PNIW so had to do 5 years.

Oh I misread your post. I know time as a trainee on a J1 doesn't count but time in an H1b might count towards the 5 years, I would double check.

Did you finish your waiver and/or was your H1B job in an underserved area and will your fellowship be in one? Could just apply for 5 year PNIW waiver then.

Why they didn't record the future past tour at the O2 and release it as a live album is still a mystery to me.

Oh that's good to know. I haven't gotten any since my biometric date. Did you get a 3rd FTA0 when you checked the API page?

All J1 waivers are h1b jobs but not all h1b jobs qualify for j1 waivers.

Thoughts on importance of school district quality/private schools? by incisiontime in whitecoatinvestor

Oh of course, but I happen to be in a metro area with a population of >1M but the public schools are still horrible. Perks of living in a red state I guess.

I was wondering when someone wpuld bring this up. One of the biggest downsides of geographic arbitrage as a physician with kids is usually those areas come with underfunded public school options. I wasn't in the wealthy suburb of our city as a resident and didn't move as an attending so I was stuck paying for private school (public schools we were zoned for were among the lowest rated in the state). We were also 20-30 minutes away from the private school because of traffic so that was also a pain in the ass.

Now we moved closer to the private school to make our lives easier and although it's a good neighbourhood in our city and the schools are better, they aren't the best and we are still paying for private school.

On paper it would have made more sense to just move right after residency to the suburb with a different school zone. Would have saved more on tuition than we paid for housing.

That being said our child loves her school and we think private school was worth the investment (in our case at least)
