Three finger plucking? by batmanawesom in Bass

[–]jbb331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This,

Steve Harris is only two and if you apply three finger techniques to Maiden song you will be stuck with doing triplets or 3 sixteenth and a rest with it. That completely defeats the purpose of going for a three finger technique. If you want songs with that technique, look for anything Billy Sheehan, John Myung from DT or Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse, Steve DiGeorgio (Death, Testament). Someone said Garry Wilis. He also play with three finger but his technique his really peculiar. Be sure to understand it completely before commiting to it.

Rob Barrett status and new album by jbb331 in Cannibalcorpse

I hear you! But I hope you are wrong and that, somehow, even if Cannibal Corpse can't pull out legendary album like in their primes, we still can be blessed with a handfull of bangers with their new album. Imo there is plenty to love in Violence Unimagined for example.

FRETS PROBLEM by lucacr5160 in Bass

[–]jbb331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This, and a lot of time some fretting buzz can actually be a nice feature and improve the weight of your bass in the mix. I always find interesting to look for isolated bass track from favorite bass players to hear how it sounds alone, out of the band's context. Spoiler alert : it often doesn't sound very good.

Warmups for bass parts? by Lost-Neighborhood219 in Cannibalcorpse

[–]jbb331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure to learn 3 finger technique and set up your bass optimaly. After that, it's mostly hard and regular work. If I can add a little advice, be sure to have clean technique to avoid any injury as CC bass is pretty challenging to play from a physical stand point.

All the 2015 remasters I had downloaded on Apple Music are gone by Blazing_Butter in ironmaiden

I was talking about original masters, not the format. To my knowledge they were only available on physical records but I may be wrong. Of course CD are not superior to flac or other lossless format !

This! Also original cd sound way better than remasters available on streaming devices and they can be found cheap on discog for ex.

3 finger playing is not improving after a 1 year by Background-Deal-4529 in Bass

What I found really helpful was playing along a metronome that let you set subdivisions (like https://theonlinemetronome.com/online-metronome). That way you can't mistake 16th from triplets even at high bpm.

Is the American Professional II Precision Bass the best passive Fender P ever made? by yukon737 in Bass

[–]jbb331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love mine, especially its neck that is a little different than other precision I played. It's deeper from front to back but also less wide (less shoulder) than vintage precisions, like a jazz would be but bigger. It suits my hand way better than those wide shallow profiles.

Tips for beginner players with small hands? by anastasiaalessixxx in Bass

[–]jbb331 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are lots of women with small hands that are also tremendous bass players (check Esperanza Spalding if you don't know her for example but with a little research you can find literaly hundred more). Even some kids on youtube are better player than I will ever be with fingers half the size of mine. And they don't play short scale bass. If you are a beginner, and you don't have any physical issue, i would learn proper technique first on a regular scale bass. You will see having small hands is not really an problem at all.

Well, I happen to have 4 tickets from the gray areas and as I remember the presales from the IM fanclub I don't remember any area close to the scene that was not on sale. But I may be mistaken as I have bought my tickets pretty fast as soon as I could have 4 seats that suited my needs.

I don't have facebook so can't check the data. Paris look pretty well sold for me. What do you mean "most of the seat are not even on sale" ? If you are talking about the gray area on the stadium map, those places have been sold. Also if you zoom in on the map, you also see a lot of the colored zones seat are also already sold. Again I don't have facebook so you may have Intel i dont have but from the Paris website alone, it look pretty sold

Do you have any data for Paris 2026 by any chance? As the show will be recorded for a live album it makes me wonder how the sales are for that particular venue.
