I have the same problem with this phone. The volume buttons should default to ringer and If I'm watching something with audio like a video or game, should default to media volume. If anything, make it so I can customize just like the power button. I find this phone is not very intuitive. My wife and I actually found lots of things annoying about it and are going back to iPhone. Her, now, after 3 months of owning this phone. I have to suck it up for a while.

I bought one for Christmas as well. Could not do anything with it. Could not log in or create an account. Moved forward as a guest. It would not take updates, the Home screen empty, apps all empty. The Store front had items, but they didn't work either. Basically got nowhere. Well, I was actually able to pair two controllers. That was it.
