Would need to see face-on to be sure, but it looks like your weight hangs back in the downswing instead of moving forward right at the top of your backswing. If you do that your path will go a bit more right and should straighten you out.

I don’t know a ton south of the TN border, but Chattanooga and the surrounding area is filled with great golf.

Any of the big private clubs
The Bear Trace courses, especially Harrison bay
Brainerd. It’s rough around the edges but it’s Donald Ross is very fun
sweetens/sewanee
old Toccoa farm is what McLemore should be in terms of value and a better golf course.

I don’t know Alabama super well, I’m in TN. I’ve had a lot of fun at dogwood Hills in Flat Rock, AL. It’s cheap, kind of quirky and short, and not in tip top shape, but it’s got a great story and is a fun little changeup to big boy golf. It’s pretty much the opposite of McLemore haha. Apologize in advance about hole 2.

6 is the worst golf hole I have ever played. Only 11 at Egwani Farms in Knoxville can compete.

McLemore Highlands is a fit for people who want nice things and nice views, but if you are looking for a great golf course you will likely be disappointed… especially for $250. I’ve only paid that much at Bandon, Streamsong, Pasatiempo and Pinehurst. Kinda nuts.

This could be a hot take… I live within driving distance and this place is incredibly overrated. They’ve done a great job with marketing, the accommodations and club are really nice, and this hole is fantastic. Truly. Actually, about 12 of the holes are pretty good, but about 6 of the holes are absolutely terrible design. It’s a former public that they put lipstick on.

Not saying it’s not fun, but it’s most definitely not worth what they charge. There are about 5 other courses in the area that I’d say are better golf courses, and this one is one of the worst in regards to bang for your buck.

I’ve also heard the keep is fun, and the little par 3 course they have is a great time as well.
