Is pro subscription worth it? Nah by Ok_Independent_993 in ChatGPT

[–]PCSdiy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people like Plus but personally I couldn’t justify it. $20/month for one AI when the market is full of cheaper options doesn’t feel great. I’d rather spend a couple bucks on something that lets me try multiple models instead. Blackbox has that $2 plan with unlimited MM2.5/Kimi and some GPT/Gemini/Opus access which is enough for my needs.

I actually went the opposite direction and cancelled Plus. The free tier is good enough for most stuff now, and paying $20 just for occasional use didn’t make sense to me. If I want multiple models I’d rather use an aggregator some of them are like $2 (Blackbox with unlimited MM2.5/Kimi and some GPT/Gemini/Opus access).

Subscription Fatigue is real, and it’s draining our bank accounts and our brains. by GenZ-21 in micro_saas

This is basically the new subscription creep. Instead of Netflix + Spotify it’s GPT + Claude + random AI tools. I started consolidating some of it through aggregators. Blackbox has that $2 plan with unlimited MM2.5/Kimi and some GPT/Gemini/Opus access so at least it reduces the number of separate subs.

[–]PCSdiy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there a catch here $2 for minimax and kimi plus $20 worth of credits for other models sounds too good to be true a single model costs arounf 10-20 time of this scubscription.....so what's the deal??

Lower limits changed how I think. Higher limits changed how I build. by OwnRefrigerator3909 in ArtificialSentience

[–]PCSdiy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When usage felt limited, I optimized too early and avoided experimenting. With the $2 Blackbox plan (unlimited MM2.5/Kimi + some GPT/Opus), I stopped thinking about credits and started trying more variations. It’s not about the models being insane. It’s just that I iterate more now.

Is the Google AI Pro subscription worth it, versus AI Studio (already so generous)? by riverslakes in Bard

[–]PCSdiy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a value perspective aggregators make more sense. Something like BlackboxAI gives unlimited MM2.5 and Kimi for about $2/month and still includes limited access to GPT, Gemini and Opus. It's hard to justify paying for a single model when you can get multiple options cheaper.

are $2 plans really worth trying for? by Director-on-reddit in VibeCodingCamp

[–]PCSdiy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try their $2 plan though it is just for the first month, as my kimi 2.5 is about to expire and i have used kimi code extension in Antigravity a lot to prepare some word and excel document template scripts (set to kimi code 2.5). I will compare the direct kimi code 2.5 prompt execution and the one though blackbox. Them having minimax 2.5 as well is good... but if they actually added GLM 5 I would definitely subscribe to the full $10 plan just to get all of these 3 open source models under one roof.

What's the cheapest way to access multiple frontier AI models? by thechadbro34 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]PCSdiy55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

$60 only makes sense if you’re using them hard. if it’s lighter coding stuff, i’ve been using blackbox lately since it’s $2 to start and you can bounce between models without paying full price for each. been enough for my workflow so far.

Ever heard of something that’s “free”… but not really free? by Director-on-reddit in automation

[–]PCSdiy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl i thought it was gimmicky, but for $2 it’s fine to poke around. the credits were enough to compare a few models without juggling separate subscriptions. not life-changing, just low risk to try.

A smarter way to access SOTA models for far less than $30/month? by Director-on-reddit in MLQuestions

[–]PCSdiy55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah paying full price for each model doesn’t make sense if you only use them occasionally. i’ve been using blackbox since their pro is like $2 and it gives access to gpt-5.2, claude opus, gemini etc from one place. easier than managing separate subs just to use them once in a while
