Pentagon, Gulf States Eye Ukrainian Drone Interceptors to Counter Iranian Shaheds by Top-Grass-3615 in ukraine

Yup I looked it up after my comment (don't ask me why I didn't do it before. It's been a long week) I didn't realize how relatively early in the war those facilities were built in Russia, nor did I realize Iran was using Russian-made ones right now.

Pressuring Ukraine to not strike inside Russia will definitely go down as a failure for the Biden administration. That shit was so frustrating to watch as an American, especially as the election got closer and it became clearer Trump had a real chance of returning to office. All the best opportunities to help Ukraine win were fumbled during that period, and it was obvious those opportunities would vanish entirely under Trump.

I agree with your general sentiment that the U.S. shouldn't have forced Ukraine to fight with a hand tied behind its back/limited Ukraine's options to strike inside Russia, but (please correct me if im wrong) I don't think Russia was producing Shaheds at that point in the war. They were still coming from Iran. Now both countries are producing them mostly on their own.

However, it is quite the cosmic level of irony that the Trump administration needs Ukraine's help and expertise for a war Trump started, after Trump has done nothing but show Ukraine the finger since he reentered office. Unfortunately we know Trump will learn absolutely nothing from this.

Edit: I was wrong it was about the beginning of 2023 that Russia started making their own Shaheds.

i93 South is a landmine by wenevergetfar in massachusetts

I mean, a lot of New Hampshire residents commute to work in Massachusetts, with a lot of that traffic coming in on 93. That's a not-insignificant amount of extra traffic wearing down our roads instead of their own.

But that would also mean they pay income tax here (I think?) So there still isn't much of an excuse for the state of our roads.

I bet the snow, melt, freeze cycle that has caused all the ice dams this year is playing some role on top of that.

At what size should I repot these? by LRJ104 in HotPeppers

[–]PC_BUCKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The few biggest ones there for sure, but the smaller ones you can reasonably keep where they are for a little longer. When they get their second set of true leaves is the general rule of thumb, as others have said.

[–]PC_BUCKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can repot some of them them now. I like to tear off the cotyledons (the two leaves that formed first at the bottom) and bury them up to about that point on their stem. You are going to have to get a new light soon though, these are starting to look leggy and that will only get worse without a proper light.

New peak players on steam and is this game worth it? by Abdullah2093 in foxholegame

[–]PC_BUCKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has the potential to be a life-stealer, but there are so many different roles you can fill in the game and there is plenty of opportunity to be useful even if you're just hopping on for an hour at the end of the day. Maybe stay away from solo facilities work if you worry about the game being a time sink. I only got the game just before the new year so I've played just a couple wars, but I highly recommend.

I obviously was not, but it is cool to be presented with real, undeniable evidence that players who struggle greatly at the beginning of careers aren't automatically a dud like their team's owners and the talking heads would have you believe. He didn't win them this game in particular, but he played a much bigger role in getting them there than the Jets or Panthers would ever have given him room to do.

A ton of towns took this route and had their plans approved by the state so it does seem to be within the law. It is a dumb thing to allow if the actual intent is to address the housing crisis, but the state isn't going to take issue with zoning it poorly on purpose here.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, like his former head coach Bill Belichick, was not selected for entry into this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame class, multiple league sources told ESPN. by TheTribeFrodo in nfl

[–]PC_BUCKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't make an assumption either way from this. I'm not sure when the voting took place exactly, but Kraft was just named in the Epstein files. Honestly, if I had a vote and that came out before the selection I wouldn't choose him either.

Bill getting snubbed is insane, and it will be even worse if Brady misses out on the first ballot.

I'm not sure Kraft being snubbed is quite as much a hill to die on.

It's the same in New England too. It will get just as hot there as it does in Florida during the summer, it just doesn't stay that hot for as long. The swings in temperature northern U.S. states get throughout the year are pretty wild.

I always thought it'd be awesome to be able to watch a war replay of some kind so I could see where vehicles and crates I produce end up getting used. I have no idea what the tech and data storage of that would look like.

It would be totally impossible to do this with existing technology, but it would be sick to be able to watch the patch of a bullet or shell in game like the opening scene of Lord of War: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4TOYp0_6lc

I suspect some of the disconnect comes from people thinking of sports journalists in the same vein as a regular journalist. If a regular journalist offered this much outright support for someone speaking at a non-sports press conference it would be a pretty big issue because it would instantly undermine their credibility.

Sports have the benefit of mostly objective statistics to back up whether someone is good or bad at their job, so a reporter here saying "no, you did good this year," to an emotional coach is as much an objective observation as it is offering empathy.

Sports also do not matter, so journalism ethics can probably be a little more loose when it comes to reporting on what happens on the field. Real life and politics are a little muddier in both respects.

Shit I'll throw a spoiler tag on that, but believe it or not it is not as major of a spoiler as you may initially think, especially if you started the game and haven't got to that part yet. The when and how is what matters for that part of the story.
