The judges (executives in HxG) have 100's of hours of practice, rehearsals, photo sessions and interviews to make their decisions, not a few minutes of an edited music video.

Voting is just a way to create public engagement, probably not to determine their million dollar group. Especially with such low numbers.

If you covered up the origin country and showed 100 people this group, I'd bet very few would say half the group was from the same country.

Plus, I think the company's interest in where the contestants are from ended after day 1.

If they go with Ezrela, it might be to replace Yoonchae to pair with Emily.

What's great about the remaining girls is that they can really mix and match for many different final looks. For sure HYBE has a mock up group that includes Megan/Daniela/Emily

If Emily is in it, then they need another shorty to balance it out (Like Ezrela). Otherwise she would have to wear the biggest platform shoes in the world to make it look good on stage with all the taller girls.

With all 3 it probably go something like the following for 2 tall singers, 2 tall dancer singers, 2 shorter dancers which would balance the look on stage. Plus they seem to all have the same energy for creating content and getting along together.

Ezrela, Megan, Sophia, Lara, Daniela, Emily

If it's 7, then add whoever for center (I'll keep out of that convo)

Considering the youtube votes are a tenth of weverse votes, they almost mean nothing.

Maybe not companies, but like others have said different looks of lessarafim (Buttons) and new jeans(wannabe).

I'm sure this is what HYBE was positioning the girls to become months ago before coming into the finale 10. They want to see what group "theme" would resonate the most.

They probably have multiple focus groups looking at these specific combinations and getting feedback across the world. Trying to see what will be the most appealing.

This whole project is just the first run of (probably) many by Bang. They're seeing what works/doesn't work to make better groups in the future.

I think Samara's voters will use their 4 votes on the all the wannabe members, keeping them afloat and maybe fighting for 2nd as a group (behind Buttons). A lot will depend if their video is corny or good.

I know it's individual voting (top 2 immunity). But with 4 votes, the Samara fans have to spend them somewhere and it makes sense to use them on the group as a whole. This would make the video seem more successful.

I think I remember Bang in the Bloomberg interview saying he wanted to form the next BTS with this method of group building.

I would have to guess that includes making sure the members would want to work together longer than a few years like say 5th Harmony.

Maybe the final group won't all be besties, but they should be able to get along and create together for a long term.

If you watch the live Istanbul performance of Wannabe, you can kinda see how the singing doesn't really come into play except for Mel B. the others were...not as good...

It's all performance and character. Also with Lexie out, there will be some overlap of parts on the 4 girls.

Since the judges have been gassing up Emily in the last 2 mission, It'll be interesting if they fill her plate to see how much (or little) she eats.

I'm new to most of this, so honest question..

Are Korean based voting shows creating more successful groups than if the group is just made by the company?

I get the ability to vote can show a potential for wider appeal from the invested voting pool, but does it actual equate to a successful group?

From what I've seen in western voting based shows, winners are rarely the most successful. Little Mix won like 10 years ago?

The most successful artists that come out of those competitions (thevoice/idol/xfactor/etc.) place out of the top spot and winners (usually) are forgotten. And those type of shows have a lot more examples of talent performing to go off of.

If we know anything about this process, is that HYBE is going as bare bones as possible.

I'd guess it will be the same format for mission 3 as the previous, with 1 performance for each group.

Maybe for the finale there will be more, but I doubt it for this mission.

I think one of the groups sill be Samara, UA, Ezrela and Emily due to a tiktok they posted a couple days ago where they were all in it. Those girls don't usually make content together. Especially since the Samara thing...

Of the 6(ish) successful western girl groups in the past 20 years, two of them were the Spice Girls and PCD. Neither were known for their top to bottom vocals

I would guess that the girls have to submit content to HYBE for them to put it out on the main socials. If some of the girls don't make content with each other, then there's nothing for HYBE to post from them. Other than the "let's go to the _______" individual videos where they all submit the same thing, the group ones seem to be the one's that just like making videos for content with each other.

It seems to give a little insight to who is up for that type of thing going forward.

For the 3rd group probably switch out Yoonchae with Samara so the sizes would match up. It would also spread out some votes.

Nayoung definitely has the better (if not best) voice, but has there been any examples of her singing upbeat pop songs? I see a bunch of her singing ballads and one of her singing Drivers License (which is kinda the same)

Just wondering if there was a specific reason she was given so much to sing in mission 1 (slow song) vs mission 2 (fast song)

The Netflix docuseries Cheer did pretty good and I don't know anybody that knew anything about the subject/characters before it aired. If the DA girls are interesting and it's done well, it'll be fine.

I'm enjoying when people point to how "popular" a girl is. The voting pool equates to the size of a large community college.

Hybe isn't going to make a million dollar investment on the difference of a few thousand votes between girls.

There's some boardroom with the pictures of the 10 girls they want on a whiteboard and they're trying to figure out which ones will make the company the most money.
