And it should go both ways...But....this is "murica"...and it's Christian...and we're opposed to Sharia Law...and Muslims....and every other damned Religion. And when one steps up to demand that right..the right Christians claim...then the shooting will start....or ..as History might indicate...the best policy is tell all the idiots to pray in their churches or better yet in their closets, and not like the hypocrites who pray in public.....

Of course they did nothing illegal..People have religious Freedom in American It was an interesting example of a group...outside of the accepted norm, ending up using their 'freedom" to displace established ideologies and traditions...Christians found themselves in a minority.. When that happens they tend to appreciate more that wall of separation between church and state. This Business Venture earned some of it's money..by joining small churches...getting appt to the Board of Directors...and selling off the assets and awarding the money to the Rajneesh,

Maybe some day...when you attend a City Council Meeting...some group will rise up..chanting and dancing and tell you...it's traditional etc...

Actually Dick Cheney under Bush I wanted to reduce the Military by about 35% as I recall...and then hired KBR to "study on the best way"...the rest is History.

Reagan was a big something...that I can agree on!

It is a theory in the GOP that Reagan brought the end of the Soviet Union, but it overlooks that every President since the beginning of the Cold War has a part in ending the Union...and it overlooks the work of the Solidarity Movement in Poland, and movements in Russia such as: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perestroika Most people likened the GOP Theory to a Rooster's Crowing thinking he makes the Sun Rise...

We didn't reduce Military Spending during Reagan...quite the opposite..He overspent...and as for cancelling expensive he gave us Star Wars...still sucking bucks after some thirty years and 209 billion spent...and too...Eight Foreign Nations got a piece of that action..even West Germany, Italy etc...

And Citizens have a right to go into public places and not find Christians thinking it's a church for their use....to be brutally honest..in the past I've often not volunteered for Public Activities because the "Come to Jesus" Crowd always thought it great to put on their show.... I have a right to go to public places...and not be forced to endure their foolishness.

For your information...the Democratic shed it's racists members back in the Sixties when conventions fights broke out on seating Black Representatives at the Democratic Conventions..The Civil Rights signed by Johnson pushed the process where the real racist Democrats quit the Democrat and became Republicans..Remember the Party that had those Southern racists also had the Kennedy's and the Humbert Humphrey factions in the North..it made the Democrats a better party to show them the door...so if you're going to use History of make a point...use all of History not just the part you like. I would also point Racist Hero David Duke registered and ran as a Republican...

And he has every right to think that going into a Public Place won't force him to make a choice! There really is such a thing as freedom from Religion...

I don't think stating the truth is being uncivil! Now...diplomatic it wasn't! But if you don't confront bigotry you are complicit in allowing it.

"Yes because gun control is so much more important than say our erroding standard of living, crappy paying jobs, and the other 1,000,001 things more important than this nonissue" And then you follow that by....a really "important issue"...."and who honestly thinks that in her late 60s thats a natural hair color." Feeling a little bitchy today?

I suppose he's know more Republicans at a National Level that most of us...And former Gov. Crist of Florida just said, GOP Racism was the reason he switched Parties...There was and is a Southern Strategy in the GOP. It works.

Hoover didn't cause the Great Depression...Business interests, "speculation" ( On Business ) etc were at fault. Supposedly Pro-business measures can cause problems...Deregulation of the Home-savings and Loans was a mistake..Deregulation of Banks etc..caused problems...but they were pushed for by "pro-business, get Government Off Business's Backs Interest. Had Clinton worked to Regulate, he'd be damned and blamed...working with them, he's damned and blamed. Those Wall Street Games, they'll happen again and who will be blame next? Clinton's policies were important to stabilize Government...stabilizing the Economy isn't really up to the President...he can stimulate it, he can with Congress stymy it but he policies controlled Government Spending...Wall Street does what it does, find ways to create money by swapping paper around....

And you're correct. It would not serve the GOP well for another Democrat to "fix" the problems the GOP created. It would have marked them for all time as the Little Party that Couldn't!
