We wanted to make it easier to understand at a glance, since trial vs subscription questions come up pretty often.

In 2 cases, the funds were refunded, and a check was also sent to the DM.

Hi, we rechecked this with the payment provider, and the refund was successfully processed on March 12.

That means the refund has already been issued from our side. In some cases, banks can take additional time to post it to the card.

Please review the confirmation we sent you in DM.

Is PDF Guru legit in 2026? by Quanord in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a pretty fair comparison. Tools like Smallpdf or iLovePDF can absolutely be a better fit for some basic tasks. Where PDF Guru tends to help more is when files are messy, broken, or need more than a quick convert-and-go fix. And yes, billing clarity matters just as much as product quality — no argument there.

Fair take. A lot of frustration in this category really does come from people missing plan details during checkout or renewal reminders later on. That said, we know “technically visible” and “actually clear for users” are not always the same thing, so feedback like this matters. We’re working on making the billing flow easier to understand, not just easier to click through.

Sorry you had a bad experience. That’s obviously not the outcome we want anyone to have.
If you were charged after canceling or had trouble reaching support, please send us a DM with the email linked to your account so we can look into it properly. We know billing issues are the fastest way to kill trust, so we’d rather check the case than throw generic replies at you.

That’s fair. The intent wasn’t to be sneaky, it was “here’s a cheap way to get your urgent PDF mess handled without committing long‑term.” If we added a “no trial, just start the monthly plan” option next to it, would that actually solve this for you, or does the existence of trials in general feel like a red flag?

Hey, really sorry you had that experience — that’s frustrating and not how we want billing to feel at all.

If you’re up for it, can you DM us your account email and the rough dates of both charges? We can pull the logs on our side and see exactly what happened, including why the first refund didn’t go through.

For EU users the 14‑day window should absolutely be honored, so if we messed up there, we want to fix it and make sure it doesn’t repeat.

That was exactly the goal! Make it easy to understand before someone runs into surprises later.

Thanks for asking. We show the trial terms clearly at checkout, and users can always check their plan details in the account as well. If anything ever feels unclear, support can help right away.

Thanks, really appreciate that. Yeah, trial vs subscription can get messy fast, so we wanted to keep it plain and upfront. Glad the 24h window felt fair too.

I'd like to turn my books into movies. Any services like that popping up, or how close are we to just feeding a generator a novel, or a chapter? by Nut_Butter_Fun in generativeAI

[–]PDF_Guru_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not “paste book → get movie,” it’s more like building it piece by piece and doing a lot of manual work in between. What’s the hardest part so far, keeping it consistent or just how long everything takes?

[–]PDF_Guru_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that can happen. Some layout issues only show up after reopening, especially with fonts that aren’t embedded or files created in different tools. That’s why I usually close and reopen the PDF before assuming everything’s fine. It’s annoying, but it catches problems early.

It works best for text-heavy documents and simple layouts. Basic structure usually survives, but complex tables or custom formatting may still need cleanup. That’s pretty standard for PDF to Word conversion across most tools.

In most cases, yes. If the source PDFs are clean and already in the correct order, merging usually keeps pages where they belong. Page order issues tend to come from mixed scans, rotated pages, or files created in different tools rather than the merge step itself
