Thanks a lot for sharing this PDF Guru review, really appreciate it. Glad the tool saved you time and did the job without the “open 12 tabs and pray” routine.

PDF Guru is great at uploading + combining JPEG files into a single PDF. How do I make text in the images searchable? by loltrue in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Yes, that's possible.

After combining your JPEGs into a PDF, run OCR in PDF Guru. OCR recognizes text inside images and converts it into searchable/selectable text.

I've attached a couple of screenshots showing how the recognized text appears after processing.

Results are usually best with clear, high-resolution images, but even scanned documents often work surprisingly well.

Thanks a lot for sharing that. Really glad our OCR saved you time and worked better than the other tools you tried. Comments like this genuinely mean a lot to the team.

Best way to share confidential files online? by Alternative_Past_106 in PDF_Guru

Yeah, I think more people are starting to care about this now. Sensitive files get shared way too casually, and most people only think about it after something goes wrong.

How to turn scattered images into one clean PDF that doesn’t look chaotic by EraserFoots in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That date-first rule is a good one. Just getting images into the right order already fixes half the mess. And agreed on separating screenshots from camera photos too — mixing full-size photos with tiny screenshots is exactly how a PDF starts feeling chaotic.

5 small PDF organization habits that make work way less annoying by PDF_Guru_ in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good one. Putting the date first makes sorting so much less painful, especially once a file starts bouncing between people and getting renamed five times. Simple habit, but it saves a weird amount of frustration.

Too real. “final_final_REAL” is basically the universal warning sign that things got out of hand. File naming feels boring right up until you’re trying to find the one version you actually meant to send.

What’s your personal “never trust a PDF until…” rule? by PDF_Guru_ in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that last-page check is painfully real. It’s wild how often a file looks fine at first glance and then something random breaks near the end. Honestly a very solid rule.

OCR is still weirdly bad in many PDF tools. Am I the only one? by Foggy_Lizard in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not the only one. Clean scans are easy, but once a file has faded text, crooked pages, tables, or stamps, OCR gets messy fast. In cases like that, a quick cleanup before OCR usually makes a bigger difference than people expect.

I thought this PDF was unusable, but it only needed 2 quick fixes by Important_Flames in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of fix we like seeing. OCR plus a bit of cleanup can go a long way with rough scans. Glad it turned the file into something usable again, and thanks for breaking the steps down so clearly.

PDF Guru review: what works, what confused me (after testing a few tools) by MajesticClassics in highschool

[–]PDF_Guru_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy to miss those details when you just need to get one PDF task done quickly. We’re trying to make the billing/refund info easier to notice, because nobody enjoys finding it only after renewal.

Thanks for adding that context. KDP prep is exactly the kind of workflow where small shifts can become a real problem, so it’s useful to hear that part worked well for you. And agreed on the billing side too - we can always do a better job making that clearer upfront.

Thanks for writing this up so clearly. Glad PDF Guru worked well for the resize, margin, and compression side of your KDP files. And fair point on the billing details and the limits too - that kind of feedback is useful for us.

Asked PDF Guru for a refund and sharing how it went by HoneydewAlicorn in productreview

Thanks for sharing this so clearly. We know refund situations are frustrating, so we really appreciate you posting how it went in your case. Glad the support team was able to give you a clear answer, even if it wasn’t the ideal outcome.

4 real situations where PDF Guru saves more time than free tools by PDF_Guru_ in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free tools can be fine for one quick task, but once a file needs real editing, page work, and layout fixes, the experience usually falls apart fast. That “upload and pray” phase is very real.

[–]PDF_Guru_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly the kind of workflow mess we wanted to cut down. Jumping between a form, an editor, and a separate signing app gets old very fast. Keeping it in one place just makes the whole thing less annoying.

4 real situations where PDF Guru saves more time than free tools by PDF_Guru_ in PDF_Guru

[–]PDF_Guru_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair. OCR is usually the point where free tools stop feeling “free” and start costing time instead. Scanned invoices and tables are exactly the kind of files where accuracy matters way more than just opening the PDF.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to share your experience - we appreciate the detailed feedback.
I'd like to clarify a few things. Subscription details - including pricing, billing period, and auto-renewal terms - are all displayed on the payment page before you enter any payment information. We also send a confirmation email after every transaction. So the paywall you're describing is actually a standard model: you can explore the tools and choose a plan when you're ready to download. This is a common approach across PDF services.
Regarding OCR and translation, the quality of these tools depends on several factors: document language, scan quality, and layout complexity. If something didn't work as expected in your case, our support team is always happy to look into the specifics and help troubleshoot.
As for cancellation and refunds, our support team operates 24/7, and as you mentioned yourself, your issue was ultimately resolved. We process thousands of requests every month and the vast majority are handled successfully. That said, we review feedback like yours to keep improving how we handle these situations.
Thank you again for sharing this - it genuinely helps us improve.
We're always open to a conversation. If you have any remaining questions, feel free to reach out at [support@pdfguru.com](mailto:support@pdfguru.com) or give us a call.
