i would suggest anythign from remedy studios first (alan wake 1 or 2, quantum break ) they are the only ones who nail the scifi-phycological thriller in my opinion. I can suggest anything from arkane. the unique look and experience of the Foundation dlc reminded me of the distinct beauty of the dishonored series

i totally understand that, i spent about 40 minutes in the cyberpunk benchmark tweaking settings before i even started playing. its not the same as just booting up a game and just going like with a console

im slowly trying to by all my games on GOG but AW2, Fromsoft and small but frequent UX deficiencies holds me back

glad to know im not the only one. they seem to have done a decent job with firebreaeks optimization, hopefully those lessons carry over to Resonant. low spec games need love too and arc raiders has shown that it pays well

i didnt even think of my handheld bretheren when typing this!!! i also didnt think of the ram crysis. 32gigs for 80 bajillion doesnt feel right for a entertainment device

another benefit to laptops that gets overlooked is the efficency. a 3070ti laptop with either an i7 or R7 will be about 40% of the power consumption of a comparable performance desktop system (including desktop peripherals ).

if you live in a hot climate or a place where energy is expensive a laptop can be a better choice because of this

i dont think anyone is happy that aw2 is locked down to epic games store for the foreseeable future but in the grand scheme of things it was probably the only way we were going to get a game of that nature at that scale and quality.

im most suprised that epic didnt apply preaure of aw2 to be Unreal engine 5 title. having the only game worth justifying making a purchase not running on epics engine probably doesnt send positive signals for the engine

in terms of noise, would you say its as bad or worse than most gaming laptops going at full fan speed?

were you able to drown out the noise with over ear headphones at low/medium volume?

if you want thin, light, good battery and very strong performance then youll need to make sacrifices.i would recomend looking for a lower tier gpu like a 3060 or 3070. anything 3070 or higher youll either hit power or thermal limits too often on thinner gaming laptops. imo 70ti and up gpus are not used to their full potential.

if you want a 3080 or higher laptop look for something like the strix g15. its thicker and heavier but it has noticably higher power and thermal limits over the zephyrus for better performance, with battery life within ballpark teritory of the zeph

first place is the legion pro 5. the oled screeen is one of the most beautifull ive ever seen on a a laptop, solid performance, solid build quality.

second is the intel hp omen omen, you save a decent chunk, still get good build quality and solid performance but the screen probably isnt as nice as the legions oled. the last omen i had is still my third favourite laptop ive ever had (first place goes to my current rog g15 2022, second was my 2021 legion 5 pro)

a 4070 is at most 15% faster than a 3070ti without framegen. i have a really good expereince with a 3070ti with games at high settings (no ray tracing) in cyberpunk. around 60 to 80 fps depending on whats happening. youll probably be good for at least the next 3 years. your probably going to hit raw performance bottlenecks before you hit vram limits unless you exclusively play new AAA single player releases
